The world would be a better if every Chipotle had a trapdoor full of spikes first thing in the door.

Slop posts go in c/slop. Don't post low-hanging fruit here.
I never speak to food service workers, purely out of respect. You know your job. you do your job, i get my food. End of transaction. Keep it movin' folks. Don't try and get in their work flow or whatever, they're just a person. Let them do their job.
Thank you~
Also me neither and I always leave a tip even if it’s for something small like a coffee, I’m always looking out for them and I don’t have any complaints. If the product is bad I blame the company cheaping out on produce rather than blaming the person making my order.

100% same
I worked in grocery for nearly 20 years and I feel for you lol.
I hear you. but using this post to kinda flex how long you worked retail isn’t appropriate and comes off uncomradely. i don’t think mutual suffering should be a competition and i read about this in a book by Jodi Dean
I thank them repeatedly. Walking toward me with my coffee? Thanks. Putting my coffee down on the table? Thanks. Asking me if I needed anything else? No thanks. Saying "enjoy" and walking away? Thanks
People in the west have been so used to having things their way that any sort of change is obviously the workers fault
That dickhead in charge of Chipotle specifically blamed the workers instead of taking ownership. That’s worth burning the company down I reckon
I wonder if there would be any conflict if I decided to unionize
Starbucks employees have had a lot of success. Might be worth reaching out to their Union and finding out how to unionize Chipotle, then start working on that process locally. That sound absolutely exhausting though and no guarantee’s of unionization
Unfortunately that isn’t going so well for many of the locations. The company is refusing to negotiate a contract, and using the union as an excuse not to give regular yearly raises because “they have to keep status quo” despite the fact that they’re doing other unilateral changes like the recent uniform change. My local has been trying for a contract for two years now. They’ve gone on strike multiple times, but they always do these weird one or two day strikes so the company can just plan around it.
I reached out to a local teamsters branch and they gave me a bunch of literature and pins to give out at work but I haven’t yet. I want my coworkers to be on board with it fully before I commit. I did put one flyer up in the bathroom which stayed up a week but I was testing the waters. I’ll soon be able to have discussions. I was told by the union it takes time to get people on board because not everyone is happy with paying the entry fee and having some of their pay docked but the security we get with a union is so much greater than not being union.
Reach out to PSL and ask them for advice, too. They've been focusing on labor a lot, too, it seems so probably have some varied union membership that can help. Not sure if you have one or if they're as good about that, but around where I am, I see them help out with various random strikes and stuff.
Is PSL hard to get into? I’ve heard they’re one of the best orgs but that their vetting process is fairly tight. Unless of course they give advice if you ask
They work with a lot of organizations and individuals that aren't specifically in their org, so my gut tells me that they'd love to give advice and connections even if you're not a member. I might be wrong for some op sec reason I'm not considering, but no harm in asking lol.
(And they are not difficult or complicated to get into, it just takes a bit time-wise, probably because drawing out that process gives them the chance to feel vibes.)
This is useful to know thank you. I will look into my city’s PSL branch and reach out to get some resources

You should unionize.

Having a union won't really help with any of the things you've pointed out in your post.
I think it would help if we got laid off there’s a chance we could be rehired elsewhere. My old job was union and they were able to relocate me after i was fired. I think this is the sort of security i mean
It doesn't help that the CEO himself is encouraging this sort of behavior
Especially with him saying shit like "Just give them *the look* and they'll give you more"
Some guacamole fuled malcontent will take their shot soon
I wish someone would turn him into carne asada 🙄
Would be a shame if someone were to give him the look
Lol id be giving everyone triple servings
