“Pakistan’s information minister, Attaullah Tarar, told broadcaster Geo News: "As of now, there have not been any ceasefire violations."
interesting
The Pakistani prime minister just said they “won the war,” I’m not trusting any claims (literal or metaphorical) from either government or their spokespeople
Yeah me neither, Russian/Ukrainian telegram groups are more reliable than either Indian or Pakistani governments. Guess we gotta wait
And here I was thinking 2022 was bad for conflict related mis/disinfo. How are you STILL reusing Arma 3 footage in 2025
True or bullshit? I fucking hate how hard it is to parse information right now
i'm quoting the article, i just find it amusing he is saying this as there have been reports of the ceasefire being violated. i believe it's bullshit. i'm seeing countries hailing this ceasefire right next to the announcement of the ceasefire being possibly violated that my head just fucking hurts trying to cut through the BS
Portuguese general election are in a week from now, I'm gonna go vote early tomorrow here are some things the ruling party and the PM has done the past month.
PM went on a talk show to sing with the country's most popular singer
Upon being approach by an old woman on the street who said she was hungry the PM told her "you gotta work"
Intentionally failed to uphold a deal made with railworkers unions in order to get them to strike 1 week before an election and now said that the government is willing to revise the laws regarding labour unions.
1 day before the being publicly revealed that more clients of the PM family business company payed millions to it the opposition leader used the information in a debate, which means he had prior access to it, which prompted a PSD spokesperson to say that journalists' phones should be checked to see who informed him.
For no reason declared that around 20k people illegally residing in portugal would be messaged to leave the country, which in itself isn't unusual it's routine procedure, what's unusual is hording the cases together and publicly declare that you're gonna do it.
PM went to visit his wife who is in a pilgrimage in Fatima and called TV stations to report on it
Now what effect will this have? Idk, polls are negligible, some show the ruling party winning which is believable on the basis that people didn't want elections so they'll just vote for the incumbent and others show the socialist party winning due dissatisfaction with the government.
Some polls show the demsoc Left Block, which in 2019 was the 3rd most voted party, being decimated, now that could be due to party scandals, unfavorable media coverage after years of favorable coverage (intended to dislodge the communist's influence in the left of center field), the fact that there's now a pro-war green eurocuck party which attracts a lot of the pro-eu socially liberal you voters that used to vote for them.
Or it could be due to running a weird campaign which, challenge for you reader, you can decide whether it's cringe or not. Here's 2 videos
I don’t have any good sources for India or Pakistan, but alleged ceasefire violations along the LoC. Could be the usual firing that happens after ceasefires though
I guess my west Asia sources work in a pinch
Trump says India and Pakistan have agreed to a ceasefire
Article text
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Saturday that India and Pakistan had agreed to a "full and immediate ceasefire" after a fourth day of strikes and counter-strikes against each other's military installations.
Pakistan's foreign minister also said both countries had agreed to a ceasefire "with immediate effect".
"After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence," he said in a post on Truth Social.
The announcement came on a day when fears that the countries' nuclear arsenals might come into play spiked as the Pakistan military said a top military and civil body overseeing its nuclear weapons would meet.
But the Pakistani defence minister later said no such meeting was scheduled.
Thank fucking God. At least when it comes to nukes Trump usually has the right take, glad he was able to stop this one from spiraling out of control. Not to anybody's interests.
Pakistan's foreign minister confirmed.
Not long after the prime minister assembled the country's National Command Authority (military council that controls Pakistan's nuclear weapons)
EDIT: ah they deny it in your comment, weird.
That's good news
India has really damaged its international reputation as being the more 'rational' one compared to Pakistan. BJP is straight up criticizing the previous liberal-left alliance Government for being too 'passive' and not responding militarily after 26/11 attacks.
This is just Mussolini type Fascism now. Zero competence, all optics.
The last government congress party had was before 2014, right? Come on now
Is anyone else really really scared by the world at the moment? It feels like everything is spiralling so quickly
