Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

I'm also hearing an unconfirmed report that he fell a second time once inside a room or office, but you know how the rumor mill is.

I’m a pacifist, so I’m inclined not to wish violence on anyone. But who am I to argue with the force of gravity?

… or is it the pull of Hell?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 hours ago

Im a pacificist and I hope the ocean swallows him whole

Is there a video of this one, I like to save all of his strokes, falls, etc. its a hobby, like scrapbooking the demise of a festering piece of shit.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 6 hours ago

I just want a video of Moscow Mitch falling down a very long UP escalator.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 hours ago

Haha, that is funny.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 9 hours ago

Is there video? Can we set it to the Benny hill music?

The 60 minutes interview about his legacy was released a couple days ago. It's crazy he was able to sit up for that long without a spine.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 hours ago

I heard that his staffers achieved this by having him sit on a leaf blower during the interview, effectively making him the first "flailing arm tube man, turtoise, Moscow mule" hybrid.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Aren’t these interviews typically done at night? I saw the daylight in the background and thought it was very odd.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 hours ago

There's usually a main interview and then side interviews at a place of interest (workplace, crime scene, home)

Yeah, polio's a bitch... guess we'll see that back soon!

"It's reported that the senator landed on his back, and proceeded to roll back and forth for over 10min before his laughing constituents flipped him off his shell back onto his feet"

[–] [email protected] 10 points 10 hours ago

I’m afraid I may fail that version of the Voight-Kampff Test.

[–] [email protected] 53 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Oh my god! Are the stairs okay?!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

I love seeing your comments. They always make me smile.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 hours ago

👊

Glad I could put a smile on your face! We could all definitely use more of that.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Right after he spoke up against trump and voted against hegseth? Weird. 🤔

Why would someone playing Magic the gathering pay either one light/dark mana to use push when they could use Fatal push instead, which is a solid equalizer to being on the draw against aggro/mana dorks.

Also a good option on the play, but most decks would proactively cast thoughtseize (assuming both in hand)

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 hours ago

Lightning Bolt would've been nice.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 7 hours ago

That would make me no more sympathetic to him and no less loathing of her.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 hours ago

This guy fucked up my beautiful last name with his existence. Good riddance.

[–] [email protected] 119 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

Sorry, but all my sympathy is being used for the victims of this administration that McConnell could have prevented not once but twice.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago) (1 children)

McConnell is a big reason why we're here to begin with. He broke the obstruction record during Obama's administration.

However, Dems should be taking note of how exactly McConnell obstructed so effectively and start doing it themselves ASAP.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 8 hours ago

Agree, but one thing McConnell typically had, even as Minority Leader, was his people in line. I'm not sure the dems will ever be able to form a solid block as fragmented as we all are. Doesn't meant they shouldn't try though.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

There were two impeachment votes, but he for damn sure could have prevented it at an absolute myriad of junctures between 2015 and now.

wake me up when they start falling out of windows.

[–] [email protected] 38 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Moscow Mitch is not needed anymore.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 hours ago

Yeah, his work is done.

This sparks joy

[–] [email protected] 78 points 14 hours ago (10 children)

I can already tell by the headline that my desired outcome did not happen.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 14 hours ago (4 children)

Idk. Knowing that he knows he's old, weak, frail, and vulnerable, and knowing that he's probably in ongoing pain from toppling down stairs, makes me happier than him just straight up passing.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 14 hours ago)

When you’re old, a bad fall can indicate the final 2 years of your life. Reduced mobility, depression, and injury sap what little remains of you. Despite hating him, I sympathize. There’s nothing to be gained from his current state. Were he still leading the country to its ruin, I’d be ecstatic, but now he’s just an old idiot potentially headed for hospice. Trump should take the stairs more often

We sure he wasn't pushed?

[–] [email protected] 16 points 13 hours ago

This means nothing. Let me know when is phylactery is destroyed.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 10 hours ago

Oh no.

Anyway.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 11 hours ago

Here's hoping the next RNC is held on Mt. Niesen, Switzerland. with its 11,674 steps. 🤞

Socially minded leaders who show great promise in the US: mysteriously die, get assassinated or murdered before they get too old.

Conservatives in the US: live for 100 years causing untold human misery for as long as they live

[–] [email protected] 6 points 11 hours ago

The Luigi to regular for-profit assassin ratio is way too low.

In case anyone wonders what the rules on a replacement are:

https://www.politico.com/news/2024/03/28/kentucky-replace-mcconnell-beshear-00149543

"The governor must choose a nominee from a list of three names the outgoing senator’s party submits. Beshear would have to choose a Republican, should either Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell or Sen. Rand Paul’s seats become vacant."

[–] [email protected] 15 points 13 hours ago

Pretty sure that state law was rammed through at warp speed once Beshear was elected but prior to him taking office.
