Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

Trump is blaming DEI

Pretty cool that all the problems in the world are going to be blamed on minorities being respected. Very good sign for the future as Trump shock doctrines the USA.

I think Whiskey Pete and the DoD are going to catch the most flak here. The latest reports I've seen say that "training mission" was just getting flight hours to stay qualified. While I haven't yet seen whether or not they were using night-vision goggles which would be the chefs-kiss, choosing to do such a routine anytime anywhere flight at night in the landing path of one of the busiest airports in the country is remarkably stupid. Maybe the most stupid military-civilian incident since the USS Vincennes shot down Iran Air 655 back in 1988.

Pete said they had night vision

Hot damn. I've seen videos of coast guard rescues using them and even a few light sources blow out their vision. They were above an illuminated airport with multiple planes around them and the light from stars on a clear night.

Which generation of night vision?

Only the ancient hardware performs as you describe.

shrug-outta-hecks No other explanation would be more vindicating for the blackhawk pilot, who otherwise is just someone who murdered everyone on that plane through their negligence/incompetence. I'm just looking for any technical element apart from the military willfully killing 64 civilians.

Fucking owns that we're entrusting the most sensitive aspects of society to your olf G*mer cousin who dropped out of business school to work at his dad's jetski dealership and thinks the empire in star wars are the good guys.

I unno man. I feel like if they were an empire supporter they would have continued with their business career. I mean the topic at hand is 2 corrupt "businessmen".

musk will say the two aircraft landed significantly earlier than they had planned, making it a win for efficiency.

Couldn't this also be bad for all those rich people with private jets? Like don't they need to rely on ATC's as well so they don't collide with another aircraft?

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 months ago (1 children)

They can afford all the fancy in air radar shit, they don't need it. Probably what they are banking on.

Won't save them from a military aircraft flying around without a transponder on and no TCAS

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 months ago

Oh well. We can only hope night training flights increase near private jet friendly airports.

I'm sure this will be a massive scandal and the Senate will do a thorough investigation and hold responsible parties accountable.
