Those are some load bearing bumpers.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

IDK about GMC, but the Ford and Chevy work vans I've driven have serious bumpers. Nothing like the spongy decorations that cars come with now. We're talking solid steel and welded to the frame.

Please, dont compare this fine craftsmanship with that POS

Hey, it does share something in common with the Cybertruck, it's apparently not designed to drive in the rain.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

~~in the rain~~

I bet you this one does not leak like the cybersuck and it will continue to operate even if it does

I wonder if this is the base structure of a parade float.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Pfft, that's silly. Parades don't float!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

just add soda and ice cream to the top

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

That would make it pretty good, as a camper it's ass.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago

Probably didn't phase that GMC van a bit. Those things were built like tanks.

“The plans cost 750$, the materials…also 750$”

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I’m thinking that standard construction techniques and materials would be a problem on a mobile structure.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

is that what you're thinking? wood screws aren't cut out for a structure that will sustain 80mph winds for 4 hours straight while turning

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yes, I picture it vibrating apart.

take it north up the 5 past bakersfield and that thing will take off like dorothy's house, never to be seen again

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's on a van; it can go pretty much anywhere they want.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

ha, i knew this was coming

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Well you can see and hear this monstrosity from a mile away

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Undoubtedly, they’re going to a river

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

Not just to, they're going down by a river

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

Looks unfinished or maybe something you could tarp over when in use. Pretty barebones.
