I don't know anything about boxing so maybe I'm way off, but there's no way that this fight isn't just the most pathetic spectacle anyone's ever seen. Tyson's not going to magically be 24 again and kill Paul.
Lot of people huffing the Tyson copium before the fight. Had an older, former coworker reach out to me saying he put a100 buck bet down on a Tyson win.
Tyson looked good in the first round. If he fought like that for 4 rounds Paul would've been done.
Age comes to us all I suppose, but even so, even knowing there's no turning back the clock for any of us, I'd hoped Tyson could pull it off one last time and eat that smarmy douchebag.
I remember seeing some bullshit drama about how Jake Paul does show fights without any real substance and he whined about it a bunch. Turning around and fighting Tyson isn't doing him any favors.
Definitely not, it was a lose/lose proposition from the jump. Nearly everybody watching wanted Tyson to fuck Paul up. Tyson wins? Paul lost to an old man. Paul wins? He beat up an old man. And in either outcome, the crowd isn't with him.
But even besides all that, as you say, it was a one-off exhibition match, and the main draw was Tyson coming out of retirement. Plus, at least in my mind, the fact that he took 8 rounds to barely beat an old, injured man by decision, makes me wonder if those other 10 wins were tomato cans.

Well Mike at least took those punches. Not shocked that the fight was a bit underwhelming. This was more about Paul getting in the ring with someone he looked up to just to say he did.
And to give Mike a payout. He got upwards of $20 million for this fight. I fully believe Mike knew this was gonna be the outcome but wanted to make sure his family was fully secure before he was gone
