My mom was just telling me she thinks we should stay occupying Iraq until they stop "calling us infidels", but I can't help but just roll my eyes and say alright then, the troops there are in grave danger and neocolonialism is hurting America too because the exploitation of the base of production by financial interests is increasing at an exponential rate which will inevitably hurt everyone not super rich. Even imperial lapdogs. I just leave out the imperial lapdogs part. I can't bring myself to either lie to or cut off family. Definitely not keen to visit, knowing we would have to listen to that. Hell no!

Very pithy but I would appreciate you being more specific. That is not long after I was born, I didn't exactly have my finger on the pulse of the media at the time. That was also long before mass livestreamed communication that can leak stuff was in the hands of everyone on earth. Those kinds of historical parallels can just circumvent your own analytical skills if you're not careful.

I don't know about that, there is a lot to be gained by maintaining credibility. The whole "don't trust state affiliated media!!!!" bit has gotten pretty old. Part of the issue with Iranian and Russian media is they have just let US humint actors in through the front door. They're a little too independent for my hypothetical regime, just saying.

Those guys are really shady. They have crazy vote patterns on their own instance where other admins can't see the source of votes.

Oh I believe you. That is probably enough raw THC to get pretty stoned no matter your tolerance, just keep adding more goo.

What I mean is I like to go really insane and get visuals and shit and if I build it up in my bodyfat I have enough residual tolerance that I can't just take a hit and get stoned.

I would have to eat a ton of edibles or RSO and keep escalating. I can't even read books if I have the residual tolerance, I used to try and it went poorly.

He just waited for a letter from the feds while tying everything about the Linux Foundation to US law and claiming this as some kind of independent "anti-authoritarian" resource. He was probably happy to take contributions from the Russians and reasoned that open source projects could be used against them like other NGO-acquired causes.

RISCV people at least moved to Switzerland to avoid this for the time being. Over war on China bullshit that time if I recall correctly.

Even free software is ultimately just nonviolent activism in the vein of Ramsay C Clark and Gene Sharp and John Kiriakou and Noam Chomsky, but confined to consumers of programmable electronics. It certainly has potential in a tech ecosystem not dominated by western universities, manufacturers, NGOs, and employers

WWIII already started and the USA is already fascist. Everything is already happening.

This is how the US likes to cross red lines now, without committing. When I saw there had been strikes in Syria and Iraq I was thinking oil infrastructure was hit and things were going to get really insane.

If it's another massacre on the outskirts of the city left unprotected by air defense, then I imagine Iran will drop another large missile salvo? I really don't know.
