MODERATORS

put all of your election posting here so it doesn't bother anyone else!

from @[email protected]:

For Agitprop purposes, I’m asking comrades to help aggregate any and all effortpost responses, critiques, or general thoughts that you have seen or written pertaining to yesterday’s U.S. election that you think have standalone value for discussion either online or IRL.

I made a post for that purpose here, and ideally it can be used not only for general discussion, but as a reference for well thought out responses in discussions about the election to save all of us some brainpower.

No shitposts please, as we’d like to highlight some comrades’ actual effort in constructing responses or analysis, but humor is 100% welcome to help make your point!

Dems pols can't actually lose. They can only be failed by their voters. Or - it's Russia. And Bluesky libs are already blaming Russia.

The big story tonight is Russia’s overt attack on America’s election - they didn’t even try to hide it - yet it’s being hugely underreported. This is a huge deal - a superpower intervention to help Trump win.

I couldn’t sleep because I realized my dumbass should have stayed with the gut feeling that Trump had it.

A couple of days ago I had some thoughts of regret over not putting money on Trump when Harris was ahead in the betting markets, now I'm really kicking myself for it.

The Libertarians and the Greens both have more than the margin of the lead in Pennsylvania sicko-yes

Edit: Not anymore sicko-no

Incidentally, i have some mildly useful knowledge: republicans hate cops killing dogs (like viscerally), for our local small time dunk posters on twitter and interpersonal communications (they also hate tickets over driving). If someone does some acab propaganda.

(was reminded by squirrel story)

Based on https://www.270towin.com/2024-election-results-live/president/ not a single state that has posted results has flipped from 2020.

These people are either bots or Minnesotans, and since no Minnesotan has every passed the Voight-Kampf test there's no way to say.

Seriously I hope it's bots because people hooting and hollering because their Midwest Klan Daddy says "It is okay to boo people you think are an existential threat to your existance" is... like... words have failed me I don't have words.

Per the Economist's tallying of all reported counties thus far and comparing them to 2020, seems like an overall +8 swing to Trump/Republicans. Early yet, but could be a sign all is not well for the Dems. https://www.economist.com/interactive/us-2024-election/results/president

It looks like Trump's gonna win. If so - he might get two more SCOTUS justices. Alito and Thomas might retire. If so - I wonder if they'll be in their 30s. I mean - why not? Younger is better.
