There's something so existentially horrifying about thousands of people pointlessly dying fighting over some village with 5000 residents in the middle of a bombed out wasteland and this just repeats month after month, but half the people around me talk abut it like it's an exciting sports game.
Its doubly fucked when you live in cities that are just like theirs,and your grandparents live in villages just like those
And then you move away from the border,and into the capital,and it's like you stepped into another reality,no alarms at night,no jets flying overhead,it's like the war is something on tv again (Not Ukrainian,but I live on the border with them)

Well if it makes you feel better this isnt what they're fighting for. Russia is systemically dismantling the Ukrainian proxy state and removing US influence from the region. Weakening NATO as a whole. The world will be better at the end of it.

Not just cis whites, I got driven out of a Discord that was like 1/3 trans for saying that I wouldn't vote for the Democrats because they support genocide. I talked about this previously, but I've had similar experiences since then among people who were otherwise strongly left-leaning.
If you live in the imperial core, there is no faster or surer way to make an enemy of everyone around you than to stand by your conviction that those in the periphery are human.

It's also deeply non-materialist. There is nothing inherent to one's skin tone or gender identity in terms of ideology, no one is born a imperialist. The reason most people in the global north support the current world order is because they are it's beneficiaries. That order is not going to change just because the racial or gender identity of those in charge or making up the empire changes. New cultural identities will form to justify the global capitalist-imperialist system in such a scenario. These ideologies adapt and change to suit what is required by the global capitalist system, and not the other way around. Look at the history of Liberia for example, where freed African American and Afro Caribbean people proceeded to form their own cultural identity and colonised a part of Africa. Communitarian ideologies based around race or gender identity cannot be a substitute for the absence of a socialist ideology in the working class. This is true for even the most radical of communities.
Thanos snapping white people from existence would just mean Japan is the new center of capital. The imperial core would still exist and most of the subimperialist parts like the UAE would just get "promoted" to imperialist.
Yeah as a fellow straight person of low melanin content I'm with you on this. Like it'd be better if the death was means tested not skin/sexuality based but pretty sure unlimited genocide on the white cissys would probably be a net benefit too good to say no to even if it takes a few good people with the bad.
Genocide of any kind would be bad, and the system would just be taken over by POC imperialists because nothing about the system itself changed. There would be a bit of a crisis, yeah, but I think Kamala would come out on top and set everything straight. The thing about whiteness being an artificial category made for the perpetuation of the bourgeois state is that there is no essentially "white" person and nothing that intrinsically separates them, as a bloc, from POC.
This is just the wrong way to look at the issue.
