The cover page is based on a Smoker fanart that Kohei Horikoshi (My Hero author) drew as a teen.

Piracy is good and you should do more of it. Use https://aniwave.to/ and https://4anime.gg/ for streaming, and https://nyaa.si/ for torrents. Piracy is the only means of digital protest that audiences have to fight poor worker treatment.
That's such a cool tribute to MHA ending! I wonder how many other published authors submitted fanart for their favourite series
How could you read and be a fan of one piece and then write a manga about marvel capeshit set in Japan where police are good actually?
Still a wholesome cover story, I do hope we get back to yamato and his pilgrimage through wano.
Honest question, what's Koby's fucking problem? Smartest guy on earth says the world is doomed unless someone finds the One Piece and he's like, "yeah I can't let Luffy do that"
I still don't get it. He's just seen first hand how dangerous Blackbeard was and how his crew took down Garp and currently have a former admiral on their side.
He should be brainstorming how to take down Blackbeard because Blackbeard will actually take over the world and is just using everything in the world to his advantage no matter how dishonorable it is.
I do think Koby and Luffy will still team up in the end to take down Blackbeard since it parallels their first encounter as Koby was taken prisoner by both Alvida and Blackbeard before being saved by a D clan member in Luffy and Garp.
That would also parallel Roger and Garp teaming up to take down Rocks!
Only thing I can think of is that he's been trying to keep up with Luffy this whole time in pursuing their respective dreams and this is how he thinks of being on the same level. But like his dream was to be an admiral, so I don't know that's really required?? Strange boy.
Koby is ACAB: Assigned Cop At Birth.
KKKoby
On the other hand he has so much faith in his friend that he believes he is the biggest threat/will pull thru
I like your take on it
Yeah I thought Koby was a dick for his reaction and then one of my friends pointed this out. I still think he's a punk, but the foundation is better now
Lets be honest. But coby doesn't feel like what garp is to roger yet. Although I wanna see them seriously clash. But that felt malignant somehow. I dunno
They haven't interacted at all yet since Koby got powered up, so they'll probably have a duel down the line somewhere. But I still don't get his goal, does he want the Marines to get the One Piece or does he just wanna stop Luffy?
If Koby doesn't just have a shorter version of the Rob Lucci fight on Egghead then I'm gonna be pissed. At best he can have a "Usopp leaving the crew battle" redux, but anything beyond that would annoy me tbh.
Akainu or broadly navy seem to be set for securing one piece for the government. Koby seems to fall into that of course. He has been as a navy counterpart for long enough. The way he said it seemed he wanted stop luffy.
There's three pages where I was definitely so shook. The robot repelling the damn elders and them dejectedly returning while imu is excited to feel the power hit back after all those years. That was fantastic really.
Just breathtaking, that whole joyboy talking to the robot sequence. Good lord. What an arc what an ending.
Also commie buggy and traitor coby. That was cold coby.
Emeth using Joy Boy's haki is so cool! Literally a blast from the past
Yeah that blast and reaction from imu were very wonderful.
Also commie buggy and traitor coby. That was cold coby.
Buggy "D." Clown and Koby the cop.
Big robot makes me cry. Glad to be off egghead. Not related to this chapter except for the few panels were that style was prevalent, but I miss Odas older, cleaner style. I can't parse what's happening now.
Cried more about the big robot when I realised it was named after the Hebrew word that is put inside a golem to activate it
I get what you mean, sometimes it's hard to see the details if you're not reading on a larger screen or a physical release.
The robot really moved me too. Its awesome.
fuck, ive been on break from one piece for like half a year and im only 15 chapter behind. i just want to binge a hundred chapters
On the bright side there's probably only a couple chapters left of this arc so you can go back and binge the whole thing in a few weeks
nice! this arc is shorter than i expected then. ig its just egghead island and not some crazy emperor vs emperor arc
Do it I guess. This was awesome.
Most of that is related to Oda's eye surgery and Akira Toriyama's sudden passing.
Oda (through his editors or just his own self) is taking One Piece serialization slower now and focusing on his health. The benefit is that the chapters feel much more impactful but we just get fewer of them and with less pages per chapter.
We are in the final saga now so I actually prefer if Oda takes his time since it seems that each chapter there's a huge payoff that leaves everyone satisfied. It also exposes all the manga chasers who only read one piece for how fast oda puts out chapters and now are complaining that their treats aren't coming fast enough.
oh shit i didnt know that. now i feel bad for being so impatient. hope he takes care of himself
this chapter is so fucking hype. last chapter of egghead i believe technically, since they all leave the island at the end. that puts egghead at a relatively tight 65 chapters. i think egghead is going to end up having much the same narrative role as Punk Hazard; welcome to the final saga, we're on a whole new level than before.
also i'm absolutely fascinated by all the implications about how the gorosei work now. they can be summoned from and returned to their room in Pangaea? that's crazy. were those projections? do they have to be killed in that room for it to be a perma? absolutely bonkers chapter.
Yeah. This really felt like the end is nigh. Seeing joyboy talk and perform that beyond the grave was beautiful.
You are right it does feel like punk hazard. Lot of people have been saying sabaody but it does feel like punk hazard. Cause all elders zeroing in and giving up felt definitely like doffy racing to hazard and leaving.
Welcome to the final saga, jesus it feels very stacked. Can't wait for this to be animated.
I'm curious if them getting teleported there was something Imu did because they reacted to Joy Boy's haki
well one of them had already been blown back by the earlier combo attack
Big fan of how Luffys cartoon-eyes-out-head reaction seems to have infected the entire crew
Also please keep doing these threads, they're nice
I don't plan on stopping until the manga is done!
Did they find the One Piece?
Not yet, thanks for checking in!
Not this time, maybe next week.
