The lengths the establishment will go to block universal health care. I don't think Medicare For All would have passed even if Bernie won, but it would have forced every Dem in Congress to go on the record and have to explain to their constituents why they voted against it.

It was just at the start of covid. The threat there was the media blaming him for forcing people to the polls during a pandemic.
I still remember the CDC telling people not to attend large gatherings, Sanders asking for the primary to be delayed, and Brandon/DNC giving him a "yeah that's gonna be a no from me" and sending people to the polls.
Sanders should have called their bluff, his younger base was less at risk from the virus
This recontextualized my understanding of that primary an embarrassingly large amount. It makes perfect sense that they'd be trying to avoid having the lich be Their Guy, fail with all the more living candidates vs Bernie, and circle back to Biden as a last resort short of using the heart attack gun ~~twice in a row~~
