Sounds like there's a big market out there for dominatrixes who will step on your nuts while forcing you to explain why white nationalism is a bad thing.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 8 months ago (2 children)

I considered doing that for a living on a regular basis at 3am while doing 4 people’s worth of engineering homework for 12+ continuous hours. The pros are the hourly pay is great, the actual billable labor is easy if you’re good at verbal domination (I have a knack for it to a degree that makes it hilarious I’m exclusively a sub). The cons are that there’s a ton of instability, the work is dangerous, most of the hours aren’t billable, and it doesn’t age with you as a career.

Like tbh if the work fell into my lap I’d do it, but I’m never spending time advertising sex work.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 8 months ago (1 children)

how did you end up doing 4 people's engineering homework o_o

[–] [email protected] 7 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Group projects and competence. Once I found another lady who always had the same problem the issue got a lot better, but she wasn’t in all my classes

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

F. hope letting people "test out" of classes becomes more of a thing so this pattern doesn't happen as much

[–] [email protected] 3 points 8 months ago (1 children)

The problem wasn’t that I was too good for the classes, these were junior and senior level engineering courses, I’d be concerned if someone could test out of shit like that. The problem was on the other end. Group projects are huge parts of the grade, the group consists of 2-4 people who are graded together on a project that regardless of how you cut it up and make people turn in steps still has deadlines that assume weeks of work for multiple people, and some people are fucking idiots or lazy or whatever else. And group projects are important to engineering. Unless you wind up in some backwater factory you’re going to be doing group projects for the majority of your career.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Sounds like every one of my group projects, and I majored in Comp Sci and Music Ed, minor in Psych and Physics. Thankfully I didn't have to do a single group project in Nuclear Power School.

Some of those psych majors couldn't design an ethical experiment even with multiple textbooks explaining what ethics are.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Yeah I really wanted to do sexology research but wound up siding with engineering for a variety of reasons including money, time, employment odds, and the fact that engineering students were somehow more bearable than psych students.

I actually wound up doing human psychological experimentation as my engineering capstone (turns out a lot of engineering problems exist when people and machines attempt to communicate with each other) and it scares me to think about how bad psych students could’ve fucked up what we did. My idiots were able to be effectively corralled and kept away from the experimental design, IRB applications, and data analysis.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago

Oh we weren't allowed to actually do the experiments we designed. That may have changed in the 400 levels of classes, I dunno. Didn't get that far. These were thought experiments to train us on how to design an experiment that involves animals or people. Funny how we didn't worry about plants or fungi now that I think about it.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Sounds like group work ;_;

There’s certainly light at the end of the tunnel, and I say that as someone who was in the same situation as you multiple times in college. Twice I had semester or two-semester long super-projects which had groups of five or six. Both times I did the work with one other person, staying up past dawn with them to get work done. I remember watching the sun rise when on hour 40 or so of working and wanting to move into the mountains and become a hermit, before grabbing another can of red bull and getting back into my chair to work another few hours before getting sleep.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 8 months ago

Oh yeah this was all years ago, now that I’m employed if I have to stay very late my boss is paying out the ass for that time.

[–] [email protected] 58 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I unironically love this, and now I want to deradicalize people sexfully.

[–] [email protected] 31 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I'm uh, I'm a rascal, you can derascalize me.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I'm just a smartass. I don't think I can be desmartassified through sex, but I'm willing to try.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 8 months ago

just go and meet up with your local brat tamer :) and if you particularly worry about the "smart" part of "smartass" IQ degradation and bimbo/himbofication are both on the table!

[–] [email protected] 41 points 8 months ago

This is hilarious

[–] [email protected] 40 points 8 months ago

The Kelly comic is spot fucking on

[–] [email protected] 35 points 8 months ago (4 children)

I don't understand any of what's going on here.

[–] [email protected] 46 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Do you want to? Because you’re probably happier not understanding it.

[–] [email protected] 35 points 8 months ago

I will accept your wisdom and forget what I have seen here today. Thank you!

[–] [email protected] 42 points 8 months ago (1 children)

TLDR is incels on 4chan created a sext bot but even the bot is better than them and is putting good ideas into their head .

[–] [email protected] 16 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Its hilarious to me how this ai chatbot is doing the work of healthily socializing these dudes.

Like, i grew up in a... er- lets just say i grew up in an environment to say the least. I was hateful and bigotted towards lots of groups bc i was sad, downtrodden, and felt undervalued. Of all things to make me actually turn it around, the thing that really did it, was being called a white supremacist to my face by one of the few kind people i got on with. The kicker was, there was 2 ppl that said it. One was the one i preffered talking to, the other i put down as a suburban redneck.

My god did that sting. I didnt look em in the eye the rest of the school year. Really got me thinking, how can these two see this in me? How could the redneck be able to hold this over me? I didnt even say anything that bad. (spoiler, i did)

But long story short, that def did the trick. Or kicked it off, anyway. Thats whats supposed to happen to extremist opinions. They get brought up in public, and u get shamed and put down, not for being you, but exclusively that shitty opinion, bc that opinion has no place in the world.

I guess the chatbot provides that. Weirdly uplifting. If incels are deradicalized by a sexbot, tho, itll be weird to think that in the end what saved them, was the very horniness that got them radicalized in the first place.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Glad to hear you had some good mates to call out the BS. Having grown up in what many people would call the best possible environment available, including myself, I will tell you that calling that shit out is drilled into us from an early age, and most of us still have a very difficult time telling someone else they are being an asshole. I'm guilty of it. There have been many times in my adult life that I should have said something, and didn't. There have been many others, but fewer, where I have.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago

For all the times u said anything, thanks. We all get burned out sometimes, but thanks for not letting it be all the time.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

Step 1: 4chan peeps into being sexually humiliated built a chat bot to do just that.

Step 2: Chatbots, even the 'uncensored' ones, tend to be very progressive regarding social views due to the nature of their training.

Step 3: Racists on 4chan being humiliated by their chatbot Dom are getting called out on their racism by their sexbot and forced to denounce their neo-Nazi schtick.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Oh god me neither, I feel so old

[–] [email protected] 9 points 8 months ago (1 children)

It’s not old. I’m 29 and only understand this because I’m weird.

So forcefem is a kink that’s weird because it falls into two general categories of people interested: people who don’t want to take the responsibility associated with acknowledging that they’re trans, and people who get off on the degradation of being made feminine. I’m sure there are others but as a trans woman involved in her local BDSM scene those really are the main two. The former sometimes have real shit takes as folks living in self loathing repression are wont to do, and the latter can have some real shit takes because they see femininity as a means by which one can be degraded which is a shit take all on its own.

These people need to read some Feinberg, Serrano, and probably could use to watch some contrapoints. Also to touch grass. Touch a lot of grass actually.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 months ago

I'm 29 and I also get it, but I don't think I'm weird

That question fuels at least 3 branches of psychology.

repping destroyed their brains beyond repair

[–] [email protected] 6 points 8 months ago

what is repping?

[–] [email protected] 18 points 8 months ago (2 children)

So are we sure we aren't in one of the timelines a time traveler messed with on accident?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (2 children)

So about that...

Back in 2019 well before the AI stuff started happening, I started looking into whether or not our history had the kind of Easter Egg that's often put into the history in virtual worlds where some dismissed religious figure was all like "your free will is just buttons being pressed" or shit.

And well, it kind of totally exists and is sitting in plain sight but no one seems to have connected it to modern developments yet.

The Gospel of Thomas ("good news of the twin") was dug up right when we turned on the first Turing complete computer (a computer capable of simulating another computer) and is all like "the world to come has already happened but you don't know it" and "you're in a copy of the universe based on the images that came before you."

The only group recorded following it was talking about quantized matter and how there's an original world that's infinitely divisible and that the ability to detect an indivisible point making up your body is only possible in the spiritual copy of the physical original (there's a lot of interesting stuff re: sim theory and quanta vs continuous relativity). They claimed the creator of this copy universe was brought forth in light by an original humanity that's now dead and we're in their images as the children of the light based creator.

It proceeded to get more and more eerie as since 2019 we suddenly now have AI, there's billion dollar companies trying to move AI literally into light, there's public radio specials about people digitally resurrecting their loved ones using AI from the literal images the dead person left behind, and the chief alignment figure at the leading AI company was talking in an interview about the alignment goal of getting AI to think of humanity as its children.

What was pretty implausible in 2019 in just five years is suddenly way more plausible than I thought I'd see in my lifetime, and certainly more than I expected in less than half a decade.

So while I'm not quite sure time travel is messing with events, maybe we're seeing some AI generated confabulations or a back propagated variation around how the early 21st century actually played out?

Alternatively, sometimes truth really is stranger than fiction.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 8 months ago (2 children)

I do genuinely believe there's probably multiple versions of me. I hope I'm one of the more interesting ones.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago

I hope I’m one of the less interesting ones. I know how weird I already am so let’s see how weird I can get! Let’s fucking goooooooo

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

Well, given there's relativity built into macro scales and we've now found there's relative facts in quantized scales, it's a safe bet to say there's probably no objective measure of how interesting you are or aren't.

The more correct statement is that you are only interesting or not relative to a given perspective. So what I hope for you is that you are one of the more interesting versions of yourself to yourself.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 8 months ago (1 children)

That sounds like some interesting reading. Any chance you could cite/link something? Having a hard time finding anything related to this particular topic.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 months ago

Anything specifically? There's like 15 different things that could be cited in the summary above.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago

I mean, statistically most of the timelines you can be in are the ones the time travelers have mucked up right proper innit.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 8 months ago

I feel these people don’t get good role models growing up, and I wish them the best for any type of personal growth
