Unjust Depths, just starting 7.3

We uh... we're gonna be stuck with Norn for the entirety of book 7, aren't we. We gotta go an entire book without any of the funny homos onboard the Brigand, don't we. It's gonna be painful, isn't it lea-tired

Look right, I like Hunter III as much as anybody loves an emaciated meat-starved little seer gay, but not enough to abandon Shalikova for an entire book's worth! cri

I'm also not sure I get Norn. Aside from "My bridge crew are DRONES my first officer is my PLAYTHING" yeah yeah, evil lady, she actually seems to have a really healthy disdain for the Imbrian Empire and everything it stands for, the royalty and so on. So wtf is she doing still schmoozing around rear admirals and shit when the government has broken down? Surely her indiscrete homosexual life would be better served literally anywhere else.

::: spoiler [cheers voice] norn! i agree, this is a lot like episode 4 in that it's important and interesting but also i wanna hang with murati and crew! but i find norm very compelling (largely because of the mystery of why she's there when she could clearly be doing something else) and really love some of the things this gets into. plus it's pretty short as unjust depths episodes go and immediately followed by one focused on the brigand that's more than twice as long (14 chapters to this one's 6) so it makes up for it

it isn't the last time madiha does this move, and i think each time is much better handled than the last. the most recent one is fantastic and i didn't even really miss the brigand at all there

also heads up (not that this will be relevant for a while) there's a new epub. madiha finally split it into 2 separate epubs, with the 2nd one starting after the second intermission. you've got a ways to go, but figured you might want to know that

Okay my approval rating of Norn and her gang just went up dramatically as I'm starting 7.4 here. This chapter contains scenes of graphic violence, gore, and body horror LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOO lets-fucking-go

Few have deserved to die harder than that Oberheimer guy!!!! Also I adore Hunter III the salamander, uncritical support! I read her in a comedy Texan accent.

Oh this is only six? Cool, that's a good punctuation length actually. Part of my issue with book 4 is it was ten straight chapters plus seven intermissions, this is cool. I'm kind of (un?)critically supporting Norn if her plan is to be the aristocracy murder squad, frankly.

Lol was 4000+ pages or whatever too much for one epub? My copy only goes up to like Sept 2023 according to the cover, so I gotta replace soonish.

::: spoiler LET'S FUCKING GO it was SO HARD to not go "you are about to get the most murder of any section in the story so far, just wait." iirc obermeyer is the first confirmed heterosexual character in the story, which is very fun. hunter iii indeed canonically sounds like vtuber gawr gura when she leans into her southern accent which is very fun

yeah it's a nice quick little break, doesn't overstay its welcome. now that you mention it norn is kinda char coded (char being the guy in first gundam who joins zeon so he can kill aristocrats). i mean char had a specific revenge plan to kill the ones who were associated with his father's death which isn't quite the same thing, but it's there if you have gundam brainworms

yeah, the epub was getting a little unwieldy lmao. though you're still back in fall 2021 chapter wise, so you have a ways to go. i'd probably make the switch once you've hit the second set of intermissions, since that's where the epub switches over, which is a ways off still. you're august 2021 and the last intermission chapter is april 2022 at a generally weekly release schedule

yeah, the i came here to laugh at you guy. that's from zeta gundam, where he's reuniting with his rival (the main character of first gundam) and being SUPER homoerotic. like, 'they are a pivotal part of the history of yaoi' levels of homoerotic. in first gundam his two biggest moves are tricking one noble into dying pointlessly to the enemy, then by the end he's worked his ways into the first guy's sister's good graces so he can hit her with a bazooka headshot as she flees the final battle

norn definitely isn't just aimlessly murdering forever, i'll tell you that much, but this chapter certainly isn't a massive revenge scheme

you definitely wouldn't run out anytime soon, but better safe than sorry!

I know about Zeta Gundam a bit, I think you or someone else posted this gif recently, which fucks and is rad.

I look forward to potential future schemes from her!! Also my reader says I'm like 1/3rd through this epub so I think I'm making good time. I'm excited to get current.

lmao im always posting this gif, it's a great gif. having just watched a bunch of bad, extremely lib gundam im a little burned out on gundam, but man that core uc stuff is very strong. char aznable is one of the characters of all time

you might be caught up by the next chapter tbh, since it's on break through april. it's a real treat being able to discuss them as they come out, on the discord and with friends and on here
