Yeah, feels like a ton of "leftist" spaces are weird about trans people, if not just outright transphobic. Meanwhile a lot of the spaces that are not specifically for trans people but are queer friendly tend to be super lib. Hexbear is basically the only place on the internet where I don't feel like I'm surrounded by chauvinists of some kind or another. It's great here.

Hexbear really is incredibly welcoming. many other places feel like choosing between trans-friendly liberalism (what I experienced on Blahaj Lemmy, which is ultimately why I've been spending more time on Hexbear than there) or trans-dismissive leftism.
