Got it revoked for DUI probably. His BAC is the same as wine.

It's okay the leopards haven't gotten to eating his face yet.

Forget Flock cameras this is the most cyberpunk thing I've seen all year.

Just go take a walk in a couple of residential areas. You'll see them fairly quickly.

Kentucky's governor is basically Chuck Schumer, all bluster. What a disappointment.

Luxury car brands made by regular car brands are dishonest. Lexus is just a Toyota that's too ashamed to wear the badge. Same goes for Acura with Honda.

The quality of the ingredients matter so much for a simple recipe at that point as well. Damn I want a margherita now.

I followed the guide and can confirm it didn't disable Bluetooth or the compass. The data line was capped using a 50 ohm terminator that was then wrapped in alternating layers of plastic and metal tape with to make a rudimentary Faraday cage. The GPS line was kept on so the compass works just fine.

The US built its highway system in a very ruthless and efficient manner using Eminent Domain. Hundreds of communities were ripped out to place the infrastructure used for cars that most travelers unfortunately have to use today. Imagine doing that one more time over less densely populated land to lower demand for highways and possibly restoring some community space instead.

China did it and it vastly improved connectivity between remote cities in little time. Mexico also did away with a lot of the red tape associated with building railways and finished its Tren Maya project connecting the entire perimeter of its side of the Yucatan Peninsula in just five years.

Money in politics is the real reason the US doesn't have high speed rail yet still has a shitty digital panopticon.

The surveillance state is not just in the US. China and the UK love that shit too. Pretty much any government with the money and will for it is doing it for the benefit of a digital panopticon.

I'm thinking of buying an AYN Thor soon but having second thoughts about it because I can't find any information about making instant save states when running programs like Citra. Can anyone confirm that the console supports save states like most desktop PC emulators can? Thanks.

Imagine if the US' forefathers were told there'd be magic lanterns that could be used to see through walls one day when they were writing the 4th Amendment. I figure a lot of our surveillance hell scape could have been avoided.

DIY NVR Recommendations (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

I'm looking to buy a couple of ONVIF/RTSP IP cameras to hook up as part of a home security system and could use some help with the programming side of things. I've looked around a couple of Youtube guides but they all seem to skip over some minor but important details needed to install and run an open source NVR.

Could someone point me out to an online guide that's easy to follow? I'm still very much a beginner with Linux and don't know much about how to set up Docker or HomeLab as part of the NVR's installation process. I also need to remotely access my video feeds when not at home and would like to ask for some guidance on how one can go about setting that up on both the NVR and phone side.

Below is a diagram of the planned setup. Any information would be appreciated!

I just bought a Switch copy of Red Dead Redemption for $30 USD at Walmart and wondered if that'll be the last of its purchase I'll ever make. There's nothing quite like buying a new cellophane-wrapped copy and it makes me sad the physical age of gaming is at its twilight.

A lot of older PC games can run just fine on modern phone hardware. I'd buy a SteamOS version of a phone that has some modular or built-in set of buttons and analog sticks. I don't know how the app ecosystem would work for sensitive things like banking but it's mostly a minor issue for me.

I just downloaded FreeCAD to build a simple part and was following this tutorial to learn my way through the basics. Unfortunately I got stuck pretty quickly around the 2:38 part where I need to select a plane to start a drawing in. For some reason, the coordinate system planes don't show up even if the eye icon is lit up. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong here?

Upon posting a screenshot here, I think my CachyOS KDE theme might have something to do with the display as I view a mostly blank white screen while the screenshot is showing black for some reason. I've already tried changing the theme under Preferences but it seemed to make things worse, with some parts of the Start tab being unreadable.

EDIT: I should also point out that the FreeCAD client was downloaded via the CachyOS Package Manager. I heard sometimes using software from Flatpaks and other similar sources clashes with system themes. Should I use a different installation method?

How can I make a desktop shortcut of the two highlighted shell files (forge.sh and forge-adventure.sh)? Copying and pasting doesn't work since the filepath isn't brought over with them. I've tried using Menu Editor but can't find a decent guide on setting it up.

Prices have inflated so much over the past 10 years that a $20 bill buys as much as $5 did back then.

I'm trying to install either a .deb or .rpm driver for a Canon MF212w printer. Unfortunately since CachyOS is an Arch-based OS it lacks a straightforward way to go with the installation. I checked out a few different tutorials on Youtube but they all basically say to not do it their way since it could work but at the cost of messing up some dependencies. Is there a safe way to install either version of this program without damaging any other files or directories?
