I was already a communist before my egg cracked, but if I wasn't I would probably would become one pretty fast.

I can't get gender-affirming care through the public system because I'm poor, and I can't afford going private because I'm poor. Importing estrogen privately is also illegal here, so the state will literally destroy the medicine you need if you try to buy it from a foreign source above board. The only reason I'm able to get any treatment at all is because of the resources provided by the international trans community, made so me and the countless people in similar positions can get DIY hrt as safely as possible.

I can't imagine many people having a positive impression of their country when that's the reality they live in. And while it's sad when the health system lets you down, it definitely makes you realise how important international solidarity can be.
