Its been a while since I've played, but on turn 6, I can't see much of a reason for this.
It's great for highlander. And by great I mean banned. And by Highlander I mean Commander ©️
I only ever played standard, so yeah, I can see how this would be beneficial in other game types.
You aren't waiting till turn six.
