how long does it usually take before you can convince your HRT provider to let you start prog? I got an appointment soon-ish which would have me on 5 months HRT with great results at that point but I don't know if that's too soon or not

WPATH says after 1 year at a minimum. Some docs are cooler but that's the recommendation from the big international medical consensus thing on trans healthcare.
Yeah I've been getting some real "we're doing this by the books" vibes from my provider so far. Oh well . My results so far have been great anyway, I can wait
it just depends, i'm not in the US but with my private provider i could have requested it after like 6 months but i put it off an extra year or so because of procrastinating getting bloods done. at 5 months i wouldn't think there's any harm in trying to get on it asap if it's something you want to try:)
