Hi computer trans people, it's me, again, going on about my HRT, again.
I contacted my doctor after posing my questions about Anti-Androgens and the possibility of mono-E therapy. Her thoughts seemed to be those of waiting until I got my E and T levels tested, and then making a decision from there (would be in two months). She clarified that Spiro is the only option for an AA, because they do not prescribe Bica due to the risks involved with the liver. My main question is: Spiro now, or wait and see what my E and T levels are? Is there any benefit to starting Spiro sooner rather than waiting (quicker and/or "better" results)? And, one last question, will I have to start buying like 3 jars of pickles each week on Spiro? (/j).Iβm not sure I understand your question
I am not on Spiro right now, I was started on just Estradiol. I was wondering of I should start Spiro now or wait until I go back in a couple of months and get my levels tested to see if I would need an AA or not.
I guess it would depend on if you are taking E on effective mono-levels (preferably via injection) or not.
5mg per week via injections. I've heard 8mg as the minimum amount needed to effectively suppress, but I'm not sure if blocking T receptors still makes it more effective or not.
Also forgot to mention I've been doing the 5mg injections for a month now.
If youβve already been doing it for a month than I donβt think keeping with it would be the end of the world.
Probably more worth it to just see what the dose of E does at that point then effect the results with only a months worth of spiro.
Very true, and it's not like the E isn't working, so it's probably better to wait. Thanks for the help, I really appriciate it π
bica causes liver problems very rarely in people with prostate cancer who are prescribed 100-200mg a day. dr powers prescribes trans women 25-50 mg per day and has mentioned that after prescribing hundreds of women bica, has never seen it cause liver problems
I would have to find another clinic if I wanted to do Bica then (I might depending on how well the spiro works), Planned Parenthoods don't prescribe it.
that sucks, im sorry. buying bica from DIY sites is expensive as hell too. us healthcare is the worst
