The domain for that image is lemmy.dbzer0.com. I don't know anything about federation or any of that stuff. I only have an account at Hexbear and all I know is when I upload an image here - the domain is hexbear.net and there are no problems.
If you want good answers - ask in https://hexbear.net/c/hexbear. I used to try to get answers from c/feedback but I entirely gave up. That comm seems worse than useless for - cough - feedback.
