Hard to be enthused for the remasters if they are similar to the Oblivion one.

And to be honest I have grown tired of the same gameplay loop for two decades at this point.

Skyrim

Gameboy has a thriving homebrew scene if you're after monochrome greys

More devs making games for potato and low spec pcs would be a good thing.

True, but I meant a new creative endeavour rather than the same product or overly similar derivative

I would prefer new ip rather than regurgitation, remakes or demakes

Mainstream media doesn't want to die and trying to uphold that is pretty pervasive.

What platforms do you use? I've found itch decent for various media (even though itch has had it's own issues) and bandcamp good for music.

There are other smaller indie spacea and pockets online for finding more niche or tailored non mainstream culture too. Though those can be trickier to find truth be told and fairly niche in some regards too, totally worth seeking them out though

A lot of the "dead" complaints in my experience come from people that mostly engage with things in the mainstream which tends to be them feeling the decaying of capitalism as these companies chase more profit. These same people tend to be blind or unwilling to engage with much outside of the mainstream.

I haven't really engaged with much mainstream culture for a long time myself, but can say most things are still going strong away from the mainstream. I have a large backlog of books, games and music.

I haven't really seen much AI stuff with my online use but I use various filterlists in my adblocker, and don't use social media other than here. I think what you're seeing now in a lot of people limiting their online use, or moving into smaller spaces like here to engage with people rather than the larger platforms, decentralising which imo is a good thing. I've seen people going back to creating forums recently too.
