I picked up a natural titanium 15 Pro, figuring that the scratches people are reporting on the black phone would deter me, since I plan to keep this phone for a long time (I kept my X for 6 years).

but now looking at it, I am finding that I really like the look of the black phone better, since I can just get a black case and it all works well together, whereas with the natural titanium a black case looks bad with the light gray camera bump

does the black actually scratch that easily? maybe it doesn't matter with a case anyways.

That depends on what you do. I can’t imagine that watched lasted that long while doing regular workouts

Instant and effortless camera usage

You have this as a pro but it’s my main con. iPhone photos are now overprocessed for my taste.

However I am unwilling at this moment to give up the effortless integration with my Apple Watch, Mac, iPad, etc.

If I didn’t have those things, I’d heavily consider and Android

Yeah idk what their answer is supposed to mean. Since the X we have had Xs, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15

This is only true if you have an iPhone 12 or earlier. Do you? 13 onwards removed smart HDR toggle

The picture quality is insanely better.

some of that is the sensor and some of that is the sharpening and de-noising algorithms as well as smart HDR. honestly most people like this but I am really disappointed that apple doesn't let us turn it off.

I took the same photo on my 11 and 15th and unless you zoomed in, you couldn’t really see the difference.

This would be a benefit and I would be happy if I believed you. Unfortunately I don't. Ever since the 12 they've ABSURDLY ramped up the post-processing in the photos. There's no way the 11 looks like the 15 Pro.

Take a photo with the subject against a bright background. I bet the 15 Pro "smart HDR" makes the subject look like a sticker on top of the photo.

I do like the "predictive" option because it saves me from typing commonly used words. Apparently there is now an auto-fill feature that is grouped with the predictive keyboard option. So, if I type "Backe" (german for cheek) but iOS thinks the most likely word I am writing is "backed" it will automatically add a "d" when I hit space.

Wait, I’m still on iOS 16 and my phone does that too? Sometimes if I type a word and hit space it will change it, so I have to go back and re-type the word and then tap the word itself in quotes on the leftmost side of the predicted list of words

Private relay

Lockdown mode

Just privacy shit in general

What do you do on it?

The Max chips are aimed at people doing super GPU and CPU intensive work so naturally that user is going to be thinking “I wish this chip was faster” quite often

It depends. Some countries made this mandatory lol. Talk about a fucking nanny state Jesus Christ. Imagine not being able to turn this off because some tea sipping lawmakers in an ivory tower decided they didn’t want us listening to loud music

It doesn’t matter, it still impacts the security of your device.

As things stand now, iOS wholly and completely rejects any apps that aren’t signed by Apple.

In the future, it won’t. It becomes far easier for someone to get a malicious app on your phone.

No, granny won't accidentally install something,

Maybe not, but hackers can install apps that aren’t signed by Apple and now they’ll run

Hello friends,

I am planning on buying an iPhone 15 Pro. I currently have an iPhone X.

I have a Watch Series 4.

Note that iPhone X doesn't get iOS 17, and is stuck on 16. Whereas, the Watch Series 4 does get the new WatchOS 10.

Here's my concern -- if the Watch will need to be updated to WatchOS 10, to work with the iPhone 15 Pro which will obviously be on iOS 17 -- then, if I were to return the iPhone 15 Pro, and go back to using my iPhone X, I would be unable to downgrade the watchOS (since you can't do this anyways), therefore, buying the iPhone 15 Pro and updating my Watch Series 4 to WatchOS 10 would effectively lock me in, leaving me unable to return the phone and still use my watch.

I am hoping my Series 4 will pair with the iPhone 15 Pro without needing the new WatchOS, but I am not sure.

(Or, alternatively, if the Series 4 could be updated to WatchOS 10 *and still work with an iPhone that is on iOS 16).

Does anyone know if Apple has a list of what OS's specifically support pairing with each other?
