At a job fair in Berlin, the Bundeswehr, Germany's armed forces, has set up a recruiting booth staffed by Marco Mann, who has recruited at fairs like this for 18 years. He says the German public's attitude toward its armed forces is improving.

"I never used to hear 'Thank you for your service' from others, but that's starting to change," he observes. "People now are thanking us for our support of Ukraine, thanking us for being here — it's a nice change."

I googled this article and found a thread on the Labour party's subreddit (that's a thing, apparently visible-disgust )

Here are some TERF island libs libbing out

Also there were multiple posters pissing their ~~pants~~ trousers about the possibility of THE SPETSNAZ sneaking in and sabotaging the UK's precious warplanes

Here's some content hyperspecifically targeting all the European (and Aussie & Kiwi) Millennials out there 😎

Seeing that T-Rex model was a downright magical experience as a kid. Also, apparently the Battle Arena Toshinden demo was removed from the German version, along with Loaded. I knew the German government censored the fuck out of shooters, but the poor Krauts couldn't even have fighting games? michael-laugh

Never played a Mafia game before but this grabbed my attention just from the setting and time period. Idk, I just want more historical games without fantasy and scifi

spoiler

Will it run on my computer though? Probably not

Link to the comment thread if you want to immerse yourself in some prime American jagoff

Yeah, we have let that happen and it is not essential, there are other places and decent prices, everyone is just lazy and wants things cheaper, cheaper goods are just that…suck it up buttercup, losing 93 billion is going to do something and people will adjust, it isn’t a big deal, besides a lot of that stuff is poison ☠️….put your money where it should be, mostly anywhere else…maybe have some ethics, at all….there is not going to be more poverty for us, Etsy sales will go up…any Chinese poverty will only change things for the elite

After being pointed out most of the stuff on Etsy is made from imported materials

You can get the essential things wherever, stop buying junk that you don’t need, end of story…I think that all electronics will eventually come back, granted we should have upped our game on making computer chips, instead of killing the program, especially just cuz someone said they would put a manufacturing company here that we won’t see the profits from…but that isn’t the issue, the issue is that they are slavers and we don’t need their crap…but lots of places make these goods besides China…people are just spoiled and entitled, most everywhere in the world tariffs China, actually all imported goods

Get over it, you’ll go through withdrawals, but when you come out the other side, you will be better for it

All this talk suddenly coming from a people who lost their minds over covid lockdowns. Anyway this dude only buys essential things not made with slave labour, like... Chinese retro handhelds. But that's okay, because he thinks Retroid was founded by a Brit

I do trust them a little but, since the guy that started the company is from the UK I think…it is not hypocritical to buy one thing before tariffs and I will use it for a longtime, like I said and I paid a fair and actually expensive price for it

There's something quite magical about Americans saying this shit about China when they live in the biggest, most disgusting dump the planet has ever fucking seen

To cap things off, here's some random guy from Eastern Europe chiming in with his input

"the subjugation of a whole people that will never have a chance to have a better life, to speak freely, to not just see propaganda, no way to not be owned by the government…"

^ That's how we in the communism-plagued half of Europe lived for 45 years (some even longer), several countries (including China) still live, and how the "Western" leftists would condemn everyone to live had they have a chance to implement their marxist dystopia.

A while back, my u-lock's plastic mount broke while I was riding my bike, sending the lock straight into the pavement. The impact broke off the hard plastic/rubber bit on the lock itself that slots into the mount so I can't even get a cheap replacement mount from China.

For over a year I've hooked the lock onto one of the shoulder straps on my backpack but I noticed the added weight and stress of a heavy piece of metal dangling off the strap has caused the stitching to start to rip.

I'm getting tired of lugging this thing around. Doea anyone have any ideas for mounting it back on the frame?

From what I've seen this seems to be the main talking point American chuds have landed on to defend the tariffs and to dunk on other Americans who are upset about no longer being able to buy shit on Temu, etc

It's pretty rich to accuse other countries of using slave labour for Burgerlanders in general but doubly rich for Republicans to pretend to give a shit about labour laws, working conditions, etc

It's also interesting how widespread the idea of Chinese slave labour is in the West and to contrast it with how Japan and Korea's awful work cultures get treated

China = the totalitarian communist government forces the entire country into slavery

Japan and Korea = those Asians just love working really hard or something

I could practically feel the warm summer evening air on my skin when I took this shot- the sense of realism you get from the nature in this game is something else. Thank you crunching Rockstar devs who never got to see your children for your sacrifice

Also this shit came out on the PS4, further proof that we didn't need this newest console generation or these past few batches of overpriced GPUs that catch on fire and need additional support inside the case because they draw so much power and have bloated to such monstrous sizes

There's an entire ecosystem of Facebook-tier repetitive browser games that are designed to keep you tapping for hours as you chase tokens you can exchange for AE coins or coupons. Actually, the main point is to get you to make impulse buys from within the games themselves

The games all use different tokens and naturally run on slowly regenerating energy. If you run out energy, you can get more by exchanging some of your coins or tokens, browsing products on AE, opening another game, or by ordering something for a large energy boost

Simply buying stuff normally on AliExpress doesn't give you game tokens or energy, you need to directly buy an item from a listing the game shows you for it to count

Every single game also has a battlepass type deal with dailies and weeklies to complete for even more tokens

All of this started when Halo 2 introduced XP into online shooters sadness-abysmal

Bethesda didn't want to make a proper CRPG with actual dialogue trees and speech checks so this is what they came up with instead

Even making random townspeople like you by impressing them with massive farts in Fable makes more sense

I'm honestly surprised they bothered to keep the LGB on there at all since unlike the JK Rowlings of the world the Republicans and their christofascist ideologues don't pretend to be allies to cis gay people

Are they concerned that if they tried to unperson the entire LGBT community all at once they'd spark a backlash too big to contain

One day, my sister came home and exclaimed, 'Fidel is better than Jesus!' In school they had asked the kindergartners to close their eyes and pray to Jesus for ice cream. When they opened their eyes -- nothing. Then they closed their eyes again and prayed to Fidel for ice cream, and ... surprise! Ice cream cups on their desks!

Can't argue with those results

There's something kinda sad about these Taiwanese chuds' brainworms being completely indistinguishable from your average Western chanlord's.

It's all the same shit, they don't even have their own bugbears and imagery

Fogel said he doesn't believe the trends in public opinion are irreversible.

"Without a doubt, it's of deep concern," he said. "But here's the thing. As the millennials and Gen Zers and so forth mature, they will be confronted increasingly with some of the anomalies of what they had thought was the case. So, for example, the young LGBTQ community, seeing itself as part of the struggle for greater equality and empowerment and freedom, have gravitated towards this particular camp.

"But as they have to confront the inconsistencies — how, for example, somebody from the LGBTQ community living in Gaza doesn't really have much of a future, contrasting that to pride festivals in Tel Aviv on an annual basis. Different groups that have identified with these progressive voices will be challenged to rationalize them.

"I can only be hopeful that as their experience deepens, they are going to appreciate in a much more sophisticated way the problems inherent in that simplistic view of the world as being divided in a binary way between the oppressed and the oppressor, the victims and the victimizers."

"Wait, you're telling me there's no Pride parades in Gaza? I guess they should all die then"

I'm surprised Yahtzee isn't the head of that whole operation

The largest reason why he stuck around as long as he did previously was precisely because he could just remain an employee. He could just make his weekly videos and spend the rest of his time writing novels, developing games and having a life without having to deal with the stress of managing a Youtube channel on his own
