I'm aware activities are gendered in today's society and that kids may thus want to do the activities that match their real gender. It's still something we have to overcome if we want to get rid of toxic masculinity and internalized misogyny.
For me it's because my family does, so I want to feel accepted and included as the normal woman I am. I know not everyone does but growing up I did a lot of those things explicitly to signal the way I wanted to be treated. That being said, it's not something I want to continue with my kids if I have them, because that part of transitioning was very difficult for me.
