God damn, he's so old that he was already 36 when "Johnny B. Goode" came out. So he would have avoided the relentless teasing he would have gotten if he was in his school years. Also, 1922 to 2023 is a hell of a ride.

No matter how significantly you change the world, no matter what obstacles you overcome in the process, there will always come a day where your silly name overtakes all that as the real reason you are still remembered in the history books.

So he's the reason why battery life is always just kind of "acceptable" but not amazing or anything.

In his school years Goodenough suffered from dyslexia. At the time, dyslexia was poorly understood by the medical community, and Goodenough's condition went undiagnosed and untreated.[10] Although his primary schools considered him "a backward student," he taught himself to write so that he could take the entrance exam for Groton School, the boarding school where his older brother was studying at the time.

I hate how much dyslexia creates lifechanging illiteracy in people who could be remarkable scientists. There must be so many people like him who stopped at the "take an entrance exam to any good school" part.

Maybe you're not ready for it, but your kids will be indifferent to the tech.
