Imagine caring if someone texts you back immediately. Real maturity is recognizing that most adults have other things going on and can't/won't be glued to their phone all day long.

As someone who often comes on too strong in the whole friendship thing I recently met someone who is that x10 and I understand how jarring it can be to have a friend who is rather extra.

Educate me please, is this a real thing? Do people delay responses to act cool? In my day, extended chat conversations were a thing and kinda required immediate responses. Does nobody do that anymore?

I either respond within 3s, or two days later. There is no in between.

i feel like a lot of culture nowadays is questionable. a person with the fullest social calendar will still feel special if someone texts them the next day. 'i'm loved and wanted,' they'll think, even if they're annoyed and not interested in the person.
