[-] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 22 points 3 days ago

You may be thinking this is is single stupidest thing you've ever read but have you considered that these are the exact fascist brainworms necessary to truly understand what the author of Attack on Titan meant?

They mean that hexbear emotes like joker-dancing and michael-laugh can't be used by people from other instances. So, if they could, they would use jesse-wtf

[-] miz@hexbear.net 18 points 3 days ago

yeah I was just helping by adding the emoji they wanted

[-] WhatDoYouMeanPodcast@hexbear.net 17 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

You know how sometimes you can't express your idea with words alone? They made pictures to help do some of the heavy lifting for you. We collected a big group of pictures out of memes, iconic moments in media, little drawings that show exaggerated emotions, etc. so that you could use them as a sort of emotional shorthand

[-] Wheaties@hexbear.net 14 points 3 days ago

it works the same way as an imbeded image, so you gotta type out the specific URL that points to where its stored on the Hexbear servers.

![jesse-wtf](https://thelemmy.club/api/v3/image_proxy?url=https%3A%2F%2Fhexbear.net%2Fpictrs%2Fimage%2Ff4eec943-179c-4416-a166-ed40dd07701d.png "emoji jesse-wtf")

There's also a firefox addon that you can use to give yourself the hexbear emoji picker in the top bar of your browser.

I think I know where they are coming from. Before the latest round of genocide there were some efforts on the "left" of the zionist movement (which to be clear was about as left as US democrats) to justify illegal settlements by portraying them as wholesome consensus-based communes where kind peasant-farmers lived off the land in synergy with each other and the nature. Of course history was assumed to start at the settlement of the kibbutz and those weird brown people who claimed "they wanted their ancestral land back" were just authoritarian terrorists trying to destroy a free association of peaceful workers.

I think this mask has dropped off after October 7, so the claims from the OOP feel very out-of-context. But in reality this is just propaganda which was sitting stale for 3 years being resurrected now.

You can swap out "Israel" for "China"

Of course, communism is an ideology about swapping words around in order to suit this or that political utility, to launder this or that viewpoint, to be convincing to the people I want to convince.

I fucking loathe these word games that people play. It is bourgeois bullshit that tries to substitute abstraction for concreteness. Rather than teach, it confuses. It declares absolute correctness, when communists have a prerogative to engage and build deep roots within the toiling classes. It strives with puritanical fervor toward the ideal, and punishes anyone who fails to meet it, and hides the fact that ideals are created and maintained by power and violence.

It's always just bourgeois/fascist aesthetics.

[-] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 6 points 3 days ago

Sadly, Communism's biggest weakness is when you change a word around, you change the very nature of the thing itself and reality spontaneously shifts to match the new definition and there is nothing we can do to stop it.

Small domino: The ideological defeat of Bundism and the ideological triumph of Zionism over Jews in the post-war era

Large domino: Zionists posting cringe on social media

[-] TreadOnMe@hexbear.net 19 points 3 days ago

You can switch them out and they will be indistinguishable. No, I will not be providing any specific examples.

[-] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 9 points 3 days ago

Damn, this Socialist sure is concerned with putting their Nationalism first. Also those figures look to be AI art, which is a pretty clear sign of a CHUD at this point.

But I think this is also a good place to talk about this particular trend I see a lot on social media, where people seem obsessed with trying to invent a "new" socialism that "works" without bothering to even understand the basics of any socialist of communist ideas first.

They want to lead a revolutionary movement, not actually fight a revolution, but be the leader of it and get the acclaim and prestige from that, or for coming up with the idea, but without actually risking themselves in any way or actually trying to help people directly. These sorts of pseudo-leftist ideas always focus on what that individual thinks is important and never actually bothers with trying to understand anything. I think it is a sign of hyper-individualist rot on full display.

"We need to establish a 'democratic' state of Israel as the first step toward communism" is an amazing troll. This thing has layers.

"It's gotta happen in stages, don't mind this first stage"

[-] ashinadash@hexbear.net 6 points 3 days ago

Maybe my feed is too curated but I only see dorks like this when antizionist accounts are calling them out.

[-] lil_tank@hexbear.net 4 points 3 days ago
