Once again, the only thing I know about this movie is that it was filmed in occupied Western Sahara, and that the US now supports Morocco's territorial claims over their land.
i had no idea about this, including the territorial claim
That's what really soured it for me as well.
Just rewatch that video of an orangutan driving a golf cart on youtube to cleanse your palate
I love that video but I must point out that orangutan is in a menagerie owned by Dubia royals.
I quickly glanced past your comment and read:
I love that video but that orangutan is Dubya

The post right before this one was about Bush so that may have had something to do with it
sucks
we should deliver a bunch of golf carts to wild orangutans and see if they figure them out
Just watch the Xena episode 'Ulysses'
Hollywood in a nutshell
I do wish we got the Achilles on the Hades-Beach scene. The movies already 3 fucking hours long... but Achilles saying "Id rather be a slave still alive than the world greatest warrior dead" is an interesting sentiment
Gonna go hardcore far right chud and say you can't make that scene today (because as much as they cried about black people in the odyssey, having Achilles say that would've had them putting themselves or their idiot fans on the news)
A monument to the age it was made.
Look around at my works and despair.
And nothing around remains.
It’s a parking lot and an Applebees…?
Eating Good in the Neighborhood (there is not a single house within a ten minute walk).
Yeah I unfortunately can't comment waiting for a higher quality pirate because I refuse to support them because of Western Sahara but the information I'm getting isn't making me want to rush or to find someone's grainy phone shot version.
I distinctly remember Chris Nolan saying he intended the movie to be watched vertically on a phone with auto generated subtitles while Subway Surfers was on the bottom half of the screen.
I agree! I was having so much more fun on Pandora with Varaang. I was thinking after the beginning we were gonna settle in to some sort of compelling loop of "oh, this is gonna be the new interpretation and I'm going have a perspective I never considered". Instrad it's like another remaster for the world's most ancient IP.
Eliot Page stood out to me as one of the most interesting actors. In my own writing I am a sucker for magical reagents that sort of imply their function. So when Odysseus has to sacrifice animals to talk to the dead and then the dead drink the blood that's my jam. Then he's all "you lied to me!" and then still has to be reasoned with despite being dead that's the good stuff for me. If Odysseus sacrificed less blood he'd get less out of the dead and that's neat.
All the actors are so famous that they cease to feel like actual characters. It seems a bit like the studio was famous people daycare. Zendaya is simply Zendaya.
It is incomprehensible to me that it got such a high audience score. It's not fun nor is it psychological.
It got me to relisten to EPIC: The Musical. Only to realize Get In the Water was about Poesidon and not the siren song (because a woman did a cover of the song and tiktokers dressed up like the sirens). Treating the sirens like an Eldritch horror despite nothing else getting that treatment and everything else getting the full breadth of violence felt lazy. I should get to imagine what it's like to get seduced into the water. That's what made the Get In the Water song cover so interesting in my mind. It wasn't because the dudes were horny, it was "if you don't, everything you love will die. Come. You have lived long enough." Star Trek just did an episode of psych horror that did a cool look at someone unwittingly becoming violent. If they can do it then it can't be that hard.
Really enjoyed the Cyclops scene. Great sound design/effects, especially given those noisy IMAX cameras.
The cyclops and the pigs were easily the best moments
i enjoyed it a lot in the moment but reading that one review from the classicist that everyone was extremely upset about really helped me clarify my own nagging feelings about it. Every time someone said "our civilization of bronze" or whatever my eyes rolled completely out of my head.
I am once again obligated to mention The Return (2024) as the best odyssey movie.
Should have watch Spider-Slop instead nerd
Go left, watch Greek-appropriating imperialist propaganda slop. Go right, watch MCU imperialist propaganda slop. Can't I just shoot myself instead.
Can't I just shoot myself instead.
sure, if you can find a camera
I think exposing the movie-going public to an hour and a half of my ugly mug would classify as a crime against humanity.
Idk I’ve seen worse movies
right? The Dark Knight Rises was awful
idk man i freaking loved it. one of my favorite things i've seen in a minute. i get why it might not appeal to hardcore movie enthusiasts, but for normies like me it was amazing.
I thought it was cool 8.5/10

thank you for doing this comrade!
it'll save me about $25 that i can use for the glorious revolution. :p
I'd argue it was a bit better than okay-ish. I was surprised at how engaged I was with it despite its length. Wish they had made some more interesting casting decisions, Damon and Hathaway bored me. Pattinson was really the only performance that impressed me. Visually it was very impressive. It's a good movie to see in the theaters, it'd probably put me to sleep if I watched it on my laptop.
