So did they figure out some new strategy or is it just a mad rush to try to kill as many Iranians as possible hoping to war crime their way into a government willing to surrender before everybody runs out of enough oil to really do anything
It would seem that the US believes it can militarily force the Strait of Hormuz to be open.
Marco Rubio announced at 10 am Eastern Time today that the US is above international law and that the US is going to try to dismantle the International Criminal Court (ICC), which resides in The Hague, Netherlands. The US disregard for international law is reflected in their actions of the Iran War. In 2002, the US passed the 'Hague Invasion Act' which authorized the US President to do war against the Netherlands if any US citizen were arrested by the ICC.
State Department Launches Campaign to Dismantle International Criminal Court’s Threat to American Sovereignty
July 13, 2026
Today, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced a sweeping campaign to dismantle the threat posed by the International Criminal Court to U.S. sovereignty. The campaign will feature a whole-of-government response to systematically disable the ICC’s ability to operate, target American servicemen or officials, or otherwise threaten American sovereignty.
The ICC poses an intolerable threat to U.S. sovereignty – it claims the authority to prosecute and even imprison American servicemen and officials operating on behalf of America’s national interest. Americans never signed up for this, and all American presidents since the ICC’s ratification have maintained that the ICC does not have jurisdiction over Americans. The ICC previously opened an investigation into U.S. servicemen and intelligence officers and has since refused to close these cases.
The ICC now seeks to become the unaccountable global arbiter – positioning itself above and beyond the nation state as a supranational enforcement arm of a globalist bureaucracy empowered to persecute American servicemen and officials at will. No diplomatic option will be off-limits in the campaign to dismantle the threat posed by the ICC to Americans.
The campaign will feature a wide range of actions intended to ensure that the International Criminal Court is incapable of threatening U.S. sovereignty or targeting Americans.
Actions under consideration include:
- Diplomatic calls from the Secretary of State, Deputy Secretary, ambassadors, and other members of senior leadership to foreign nations highlighting the abuses of the ICC and the risks posed to Americans and other nations urging them to withdraw from the ICC
- Nations that partner with American law enforcement and the U.S. military or that enjoy the benefits of the U.S. security umbrella are called upon to reject the ICC’s purported authority to prosecute American officials and servicemen
- Increased scrutiny of nations that refuse to reject the ICC’s false authority while relying on U.S. assistance
- Diplomatic calls urging other nations that, like America, that are not party to the Rome Statute to leverage their diplomatic networks to take similar actions alongside us
- Visa revocations and travel bans for ICC personnel
- Increased sanctions against the ICC and affiliated organizations

Trump told congress today that a new war with Iran began on July 7, so that he would get a new 60 day legal deadline.

Trump learning from President George Washington, who rotated his slaves in and out of the capitol (Philadelphia at the time) so they never stayed in the city for more than the 180 day limit which would have meant they were granted their freedom.
You can never step into the same war twice
reposting my comments from another thread today.
Trump signed the MoU but the Trump administration has been pretending that the document is different.
The MoU says that Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz on point #5. The US pretends that the MoU say that Iran must open the strait. Iran closed the strait because US broke point #1 of the MoU which says Israel must leave Lebanon. US tells commercial ships to go through Strait of Hormuz. IRGC strikes the ships because the strait is closed. Then the US Zionist media says that Iran violated the MoU because US says that Iran has to open the strait. This is a constructed justification for escalation.
So why was there ever a break in the war? Trump didn't want to be doing the war during July 4 celebrations. Also the US wanted a period to replenish munitions and regroup. There's a clip of JD Vance saying this on The Daily Wire. Then there's the perfidy aspect. The US wanted to use the ceasefire as a ruse to continue attacking Iran while pretending to surrender. There was also some trickery around the congressional war powers approval; Pete Hegseth tried to say that Trump didn't need congressional approval because the war was on pause.

On Wednesday, Axios + Barak Ravid reported that a US had said that the US is preparing to attack Iran for multiple weeks. This was after the US had attacked Iran for the second time in the past week. Barak Ravid is a reporter for Axios and served in unit 8200 of the IOF at the age 18; Unit 8200 is Israel's equivalent of the US NSA. He speaks directly the White House and reports what they say. So Barak is currently or formerly a spy for Israel and reports whatever the White House tells him to say.
A U.S. official said the current escalation could last a day or two, a week or a month, depending on whether Iran continues attacking ships in the Strait of Hormuz

Then on Sunday morning, Jeremy Scahill of Drop Site News spoke with an Iranian official who said that CBS and Axios (Barak Ravid) were doing a disinformation campaign for the Trump administration. The Iranian official said that these media agencies were spreading a lie that Iran's government wanted to open the Strait of Hormuz but that rogue factions in Iran were conducting attacks in the strait. The US is spreading false information to justify US military intervention to take control of the strait.
⚡️A senior Iranian official told me that the White House engaged in a deliberate media disinformation campaign, including through Axios and CBS, claiming Iran blamed a recent attack on a vessel in Hormuz on a rogue sect within the Iranian military and that Tehran was considering an announcement with Oman about opening new transit routes in the Strait.
“This wasn’t random—it was a very deliberate and coordinated media campaign designed to pressure us into changing our decision,” the official said. “We had already clearly told the Qataris and Omanis about our firm and final decision: Iran will not allow anyone to disrupt our security and oversight management of the Strait of Hormuz.”
🔺The Iranian official said the U.S. is putting major pressure on Oman and added that the idea of opening an alternative lane in Hormuz outside of Iranian management “actually came from the American side.”
“We clearly and firmly shared our final position with” the Omanis and mediators, the official said. “The movements we’ve seen in Hormuz over the last few hours are the practical implementation of that exact decision we announced.”

Trump believes that the US and Israel will defeat Iran. Trump wants to attack Iran indefinitely. Or at least he thinks he can attack Iran enough to sneak some boats through the Strait of Hormuz.
Today, Trump declared that the US controls the Strait of Hormuz and demanded a 20% cargo shipping fee. When Iran proposed a toll on the Strait of Hormuz, Iran asked for around 1.3% cargo shipping fee and said that the first 60 days were free.

US Central Command announced shortly ago that it will block all naval ports of Iran, starting on July 14 at 4 PM Eastern Time. CENTCOM says this is a resumption of the pre-MoU conditions which occurred from April 13 to June 18.
Barak Ravid is reporting that Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) received Trump's approval on Friday to attack Yemen today.
On Friday, President Trump spoke by phone with the Saudi crown prince, per a U.S. official. MBS asked Trump for his backing for a military action against the Houthis and received it, the U.S. official told me
