Except there are plenty of historical examples of the Russian steppes being conquered, usually when there is a lot of internal strife between the factions there. The people here are struggling to get organized, and I still point to the massive far-right propaganda machine that dominates social media and television viewership that is telling us that our marginalized groups are the cause of all their woes. I want to believe we're smartening up what with rising prices and illegal wars and the blatant corruption of the political and ownership classes. But much effort has gone into keeping the common white American really ignorant and stupid.
I think they're going to try to do it with a large human paramilitary force, such as with ICE, and with the help of the surveillance state. For now they're coming for the immigrants. Then the disabled. And then the protestors and then the Democrats.
I really hope we catch on before it's too late.
