Death of Custer, scene by Pawnee Bill's Wild West Show performers c. 1905 of Sitting Bull's stabbing Custer, with dead Native Americans lying on ground

On June 25, 1876, at the Battle of the Greasy Grass (Battle of Little Big Horn) Lakota, Arikara, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho defended Sioux and Cheyenne families living in south central Montana in a battle with the Seventh Regiment of the United States Cavalry.

As explained in An Indigenous Peoples’ History of the United States for Young People by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz, adapted by Debbie Reese and Jean Mendoza:

In June 1876, a large encampment of nontreaty Sioux and Cheyenne families was gathered along the Little Bighorn River. Later that month, Custer and the Seventh Cavalry prepared to attack the encampment, but warriors led by Crazy Horse and Sitting Bull successfully intercepted them. Most textbooks call this the Battle of the Little Bighorn, but Lakota and Cheyenne people, especially those whose ancestors defended the encampment villages, know it as the Battle of the Greasy Grass.

Sioux chief Sitting Bull and Lakota leader Crazy Horse directed their warriors against Lieutenant George Armstrong Custer’s regiment of over 225 cavalry men near the Little Bighorn River. Custer and his men died in the battle, and the united tribes claimed victory over the U.S. military that week.

But the victory against the United States was short-lived. Crazy Horse died in 1877 in U.S. military custody, as that government worked steadily to disarm the nations of the western plains and force their people onto reservations. Sitting Bull lived another 14 years and was murdered at the Standing Rock Indian Reservation by an Indian Agent. He was targeted for his political power and his participation in the anti-imperialist spiritual movement, Ghost Dance.

Marble markers for the Seventh Cavalry were erected in 1890, but it was not until Memorial Day of 1999 that red granite markers were added to the historic site to honor the memory of the Lakota, Sioux, Arikara, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho who died the week of the Battle of Greasy Grass.

TIL the Roswell Air force base just mysteriously destroyed all its communications and administrative records from like 1945-1949 and the official government explanation is "we don't know who did that or when or why" and that's kinda weird because, and I also didn't know this before, but Roswell was kinda important since it's where the only bomber group in the world capable of dropping nukes was stationed at the time

How come posadists haven't mentioned that shit to me before

[-] Wmill@hexbear.net 17 points 1 month ago

Creepypasta people kinda had it coming imo, I've been told ominous things by my parents like don't answer the door past midnight and that shit easy af. These MFS be all "I've invited a great evil into my home 😭" yeah that's what happens when you answer unwanted solicitors just do what the rest of us do and pretend you're not home 🙄

[-] Wmill@hexbear.net 14 points 1 month ago

But fr I've heard weird shit before and a simple "fuck off" yelled through the window has warded off evil more than once from my home.

one day you will heal enough that the mention of other people's parents and their good relationships wont cause you grief. One day you will have friends who dont exploit you. You will recover from the loss of autonomy enough to nurture your own hobbies & take interest in your friends hobbies. It is possible!!

I reckon I could bust in the manosphere with a take like "never trust a woman who has watched movies before. If they've watched a movie like Anchorman, Stepbrothers, or movies by the great auteurs like Nolan, it means they've had a boyfriend before that showed those movies to them."

Then I could start my own podcast with 100 guys eating food and dubious sponsors

My great aunt died. She kinda sucked. She lived to 92. I list 11 friends within 2 years and they were all under 40. Fent is a fuck. A racist lady living to 92 and dying just doesn't do anything at all for me emotionally. I thought she was okay as a kid until when I was six or so she insisted black people smell bad. I wrote her off after.

I found crazy audio quality for 40€!!!!

The Chinese brand Samson makes the SR950 studio monitor-type headphones and I've found them on Ali for about 40€. They feature (according to the datasheet) a quite flat spectrum response.

Using PeqDB (free online tool) to equalize them to my taste using a sample song I love and know well, I got them sounding pretty much exactly how I want them to sound (had to boost the bass and the highs). Then using PEACE on Windows I could equalize the whole computer sounds with the exported data from PeqDB and now I have fucking gorgeous sound quality IMO for just 40€!

You can't build any % of communism as a fully atomised individual. The ruling class wants everyone atomised and alone since they're easier to suppress and control that way.

I'm gonna have to touch grass eventually. Really, actually talk to people. I'm hoping this psychologist I'm talking to can help with that. I got lucky and got Woke Psychologist, who already knows spoon theory and said she'd never advocate for me to be more palatable to neurotypicals, which is nice. My biggest goal is to unlearn the nightmarish fight or flight response my body has developed to socialising, I thought it was best to start small, online.

I MONOLOGUE SO MUCH WHEN I'M BEING WITHDRAWN AAAAA thurston

After a month of upping my modelling game and learning rigging and weight painting, I finally have a PS2-quality little guy who's all rigged up and can dance around. I actually lose some time just putting on different dj sets and watching him dance and laughing at the fruit of my labor. Doing some quick ai bullshit would never have replicated this feeling

Week or so back I was reading some psychology today issue when it talked about breaking bad habits and the like and I can't remember the 6 questions you need to ask yourself rn but I think it worked doggirl-shock I no longer feel compelled to fall back on one of my old habits. It prob wasn't the questions that did but the self reflection in that hot cramped office that finally made me think enough of this. I contribute my phone dying on me for why I actually read the whole issue at the time.

Chickpeas are one of the best beans to ever happen. I can eat them soaked overnight and pressure-cooked, completely without seasoning, like popcorn. Everybody's gotta try it .

Fun facts: They supresss appetite, have high protein content, and are gluten free.
