The defense secretary’s decision to block the officers’ promotions appears driven by his anti-woke stance rather than based on merit.

To be clear "woke" in this case means "able to compete on equal footing with white men"

I read the first part of this headline and totally thought he’d hit a woman. Seems pretty much on brand for him.

Anti DEI is also a form of DEI for white males.

Hegseth is all for helping incompetent losers.

Without knowing anything else about them, i would happily wager that they’re more competent, more professional and more capable than the white guys Kegshit is pushing.

Keep in mind that last year Hegseth made four tech sector CFOs into Lt. Colonels.

That's the future of the armed services officers corpse, I guess.

This bodes very badly... Historically, the officer corps have been filled with educated, intelligent people. Which has probably prevented us from doing stupid shit, behind the scenes, countless times.

Doing away with that intelligence will be the end of us. If this shit is allowed to become the new normal for the officer corps, then we are truly fucked.

Well yes, he is a white supremacist bigot, which means he's also a racist and a sexist. As is every single Republican in office toeing party line

[-] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 1 day ago

Because it’s sterile, and he likes the taste?

[-] arctanthrope@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

[-] wasabi_noir@lemmy.zip 9 points 1 day ago

Let’s see if he can dodge a wrench.

[-] adarza@lemmy.ca 11 points 1 day ago

it almost looks like they're looking for a lawsuit so they can get this corrupt scRotus to completely shred what's left of affirmative action and equal rights.

I would like to see Hegseth fight Angela Hill.

Maybe that ticket wouldve actually sold.
