If we had a normal Supreme Court this should go there. But now…. ?

[-] mrodri89@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 hour ago

Imagine genz and Millenials rioting. We’d probably get tired mid fight and need gaming breaks.

Honestly I'm fine so long as I get to bring a weed pen.

What was peaceful protest supposed to be a replacement for? I forget.

Broken knees and burned out oligarch properties?

[-] obvs@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

Ask France.

What would France do?

Rioting. Burning down the government, and hanging/decapitating the rich.

I guess they want that rolled back to the old methods as well.

[-] Town@lemmy.zip 5 points 3 hours ago

They feel protected because they think a violent populist reaction will be a few more lone actors.

[-] CobraCommander@quokk.au 3 points 2 hours ago

And as long as Dems keep pushing the “violence is bad and what he wants, just vote and primary people” narrative it will be.

[-] chaogomu@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

Well, the Dems are sort of right, violence is bad, and it is exactly what the fascists want, but it's also the only way that oligarchs have ever been removed from power. They never go willingly.

[-] CobraCommander@quokk.au 2 points 1 hour ago

Violence is a tool, one they want only for themselves to use against the people to maintain their power.

[-] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 17 points 5 hours ago

America needs to hire the French to do their revolution for them.

[-] Buffalox@lemmy.world 16 points 5 hours ago

Fascism is really a thing in USA now!!

[-] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 4 points 5 hours ago
[-] Buffalox@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

It always was.
But it was supposed to be declining as society improved.
But either society didn't improve because fascism and selfishness didn't decline, or else it's the other way around.
Because it seems to be getting shittier on both counts. But AFAIK it was never so much out in the open as it is now.

Eastern Washington Is basically Idaho

[-] Hideakikarate@sh.itjust.works 5 points 4 hours ago

I'm trying, boss.

[-] Regna@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

What does that mean? I associate Idaho with bad potatoes, but I think I lack the rest of the context.

[-] Triumph@fedia.io 36 points 6 hours ago

Idaho is deep in right wing militia wack job territory. Remember Ruby Ridge? Idaho.

[-] kibblebits@quokk.au 2 points 3 hours ago

I think you don’t live in eastern Washington.
