    No idea about Ruby Ridge (will Google this later) also, no idea about anything else about Idaho other than bad potatoes.

    I think you have a misunderstanding of why Ruby Ridge and Waco are associated with each other.

    It's not because of the religious wackos, though accurate, it's because they were 2 instances of the federal government murdering a bunch of children and close in time to eachother.

    You should read up more on Ruby Ridge, I don't think it makes the point you think it does.

    It's isolated forest and mountains. There's along history of self-described neo-nazis making compounds and trying to succeed from WA/OR/ID to be a white ethno-state.

    Spokane is a purple dot in the wilderness but most of it's police/representatives live in the county and vote deep red.
