It used to be interesting before with engaging posts and looked like a burgeoning community. Now it's just stagnant, full of politics and tankieism has become more commonplace. Idk though, maybe it's just me

... in terms of the whole of the fediverse, it’s bad apples. And you know what they say, a bad apple can turn a whole barrel rotten. So our leaders ... need to be willing to say no to these bad apples like Hexbear, .ml, lemmygrad. And I dunno, maybe dbzer0, maybe not.

GOOD JOB HEXBEAR! I am so proud of everyone. The Lemmy.world infiltration is on track for 74% by Q3! I'm seeing a LOT of names from the discord in the comments there running both sides and it's great. I have to go to work but if someone could jump in there as a mod or admin it will boil things over. I'm pushing Piefed.

My avocado/soy/hentai inventory for May is running DANGEROUSLY low and I don't know how the world works so I CANNOT make money any other way :/

Redditors seem to think they were stripped of something they deserve and that Lemmy is supposed to assert itself as the 1 for 1 replacement both in function and form.

Having a catered link aggregator is not a unalienable right that needs to be provided to them without some adversity and diversity... These people need to grow the fuck up and create the community they want with the readily available tools, instead of demanding existing communities bend to their whimsical world view.

As said in another comment, it was the API changes breaking third-party-apps(which I don't want to minimise entirly because it did break many accessibility apps whose functionality hasn't been reproduced in the official app or site) that lead to a big exodus, I think most of those people would thought they would be able to get the same content as reddit(which tbh you do get 90%), but didn't release how right-skewed reddit is and thus that they'd be exposed to leftist ideas suppressed on reddit and that reading them, in addition to increasing inability for people to ignore heightening contradictions and lead an 'apolitical life', would lead them to experience some uncomfortable cognitive dissonance with their neoliberal informed worldviews

Anyway the ones that believe their lying eyes and have open minds will stay, the rest will self-isolate into their fash bubbles before eventually returning to reddit once they realise they have fuck all activity in them

As for stagnant, that’s what you get when you move to a platform that doesn’t use an algorithm and ragebait to keep you engaged. For all the people that say they hate the manipulation used against them by the big platforms, they have been conditioned to want it and many move back or keep visiting while here. You can either choose to catch up on your feed here and then go touch grass or you can doomscroll reddit with the assurance that you’ll never run out of psychologically tailored content to peruse.

there's something 🤌 about advocating for switching from one doomscroll feed to another doomscroll feed. lol

The fact that the exodus was triggered by the death of apps is so funny. These people had no issue with reddit aside from how they viewed that move as an attack on their freedoms or something lol.

A privately operated platform is allowed to decide which access methods they want people to leverage, this is always the case... Plenty of platforms lock their APIs behind rules and guidelines, paywalls for access isn't new.

I disagreed with the move just as much as the next lib, but i am not deluded enough to pearl clutch and blame the lemmy communities that are perfectly content with their alternative.

wait is .world even federated with all these ML instances? can they just not defederate? seems like an issue for the .world admins to deal with their own user base or for the users themselves to choose another instance. why is this even posted here? even the slops are slopping these days, and the most bottom tier slop is inter-instance drama slop.
