Also doesn't help that they apparently gave a bunch of half-truths to every other artist on the card (like Shinedown), and potentially just added some names they thought they could dial last-minute (Ludacris).

Kid Rock is the guy you call when everyone else said no and you can only pay in Bush Light.

That's "Rock the Country," aka "MAGA Fest." It was a different show held in South Carolina, where all the other artists started dropping out when they realized it was promoting MAGA.

Kid Rock was headlining that show, but it's separate from Turning Point USA's halftime show starring Kid Rock. As far as I know, that one is still happening.

No, there are probably about 5-10M fans out there. I have a coworker who loves him.

Nobody with an IQ above 90 likes Kid Rock. Nobody with any actual musical taste likes Kid Rock. Nobody worth having a conversation with likes Kid Rock.

Can we not post this ragebait shit here?

Some maga chud said something idiotic now let's all fume about it has 0 worth.

It's know it's shitpost but it doesn't have to be this bullshit.

That's what gets upvotes on Lemmy, sadly.

This is how Voat (another Reddit clone) died. Political shitposts and clickbait tabloids crowded out every niche, so all the interesting content left.

As it turns out, doomscrolling twitter troll reposts with the same few comments in each one is quite depressing.

I don't know a good solution, either. Clickbait works. Maybe some structural changes could help, though?

Every Super Bowl there is a competing halftime show from other channels or websites. This year we have right wing lunatics acting like they’re the first and only ones to do so. Maybe year they’re do a puppy killing bowl to rival the regular one since we all know how much they love doing that.

why is the halftime show the most watched part of your grand final?

There’s 300 million+ people in the US. While Football is extremely popular, and having a Super Bowl watching party is almost a holiday style event, not every one appreciates the sport.

As the day became more holiday like, they added a show at half-time which usually is a mega-music production in and of itself that many people want to watch.

Capitalism being capitalism, commercial spots during that time are expensive and in high demand, so companies started making hilarious commercials because of the extreme amount of viewers during that time. What this ends up being is kind of a day that has something for everyone, music, sports, comedy, companionship etc.

It’s weird if you just look at from top down view but in context and with a little history it’s actually a pretty nice not holiday

it's it illegal to say I hope someone hacks the show and makes them watch the bad bunny stream instead?

This seemed almost plausible right up until the "Kid Rock."

These people are so used to talking in their echo chamber and responding to things they lied about us saying that we are lost if we just wander into their posts.

They are freaking out because kid rock. What? Nobody gives a shit about kid rock, how old is that asshole now? Him and ted nugent can front a half time show about fucking children all they want, no one in reality cares.

And no one cares about the half time show, tv executives don't particularly care either, it's a bit piece, something for the people that don't watch football normally. None of the fans give a shit about the half time show particularly.

I mean, I won’t watch this trash, and I really do hope it flops, but I feel like the caviler dismissal of the possibility of it going well is exactly how Trump won when he has.

There’s a lot of idiots out there, and everyone sits in their bubble, smuggly talking about how these people don’t exist, and then get really fucking surprised when they turn out in droves.
