That's not capitalism, money equals more money, that's true everywhere

They did confirm two tiers for the Machine a 512gb and a 2tb. If they come out with a bare bones I've got a couple 500gb or 250gb drives lying around from old builds.

So if ICE is protecting the polls from voter fraud and a Republican gets replaced with a Democrat then wouldn't that be proof that the election was fair?

Like proving himself wrong.

If Linux could run AutoCAD and didn't have issues with anti cheat programs then I probably would have fully committed to the switch.

Before any says anything, yes I know there are CAD alternatives but all of my custom tools only work in AutoCAD and I have no idea how to recreate half of them if I had to and I wouldn't know how to do it in another app anyway. Plus AutoCAD is the industry standard so for compatibility reasons, I'm locked in.

I would say that it's as simple as adding a prompt during initial user setup with check boxes. Would you like windows to handle XYZ for you? Instead of assuming all users just want to use their computers to become influencers and forcing frustrating problems onto everyone.

It may have started out with "hey we are doing this for your own good" to now it's "how can we exploit ignorance and data mine our users and put ads on the desktop?"

The thing that's driving me away from windows is how pushy it's gotten. Forced updates, ads, AI, OneDrive, and subscriptions. I just want to be able to turn on MY computer and do what I want or need without having my guard up that I can't trust my home PC with my privacy.

Windows 11 is ok, but is frustrating to use and I can't trust it not to screw with settings and there seems to be something annoying added instead of something useful with every update. I also hate the Settings menu, it's like an unhelpful layer between you and Control Panel the eventually will take you to the same place but took 5 more clicks and searching through drop downs for a link to what you needed.

I'm sure ICE took the time to examine the pistol while they were beating him and thought that they should take it and execute him on the street for buying/carrying a poorly made pistol. Such a dumb comment.

I support and respect law enforcement for what it is and acknowledge that they have a very difficult and dangerous job. I also comply with orders from law enforcement because I don't want to make a bad situation worse. But just like any other job people become jaded and there are assholes that get off on the power they wield over others and you never know which officer is going to step out of that car. However ICE are not here to serve and protect, they're a bunch of idiots with a badge and gun.

While I believe that objectively tracking down illegal immigrants and dealing with them on a case by case basis and following judicial procedures is an absolutely necessary task, ICE is completely wrong in their means and methods. Police are supposed to deescalate and meet resistance with equal force, not beat people or shoot them because they got frustrated or thought it would be fun. I know ICE are not police but they do have a gun and a badge, and should be required to follow the Constitution and jurisdictional rights of the states and human rights.

Don't confuse United States with Trump. Trump would risk it

Could there be so many rich people hoarding so much money that just by their value they actually have weaked currency and created inflation?

I'm a novice so go gently it's kinda my first time. I hope I'm in the right place.

I recently installed Mint on an old laptop to use as a browser for my TV. Everything has gone great so far except when I turn off the TV the laptop goes to sleep and won't wake. The TV is set to primary display.

I've turned off all of the power saving options and set Screen off/Suspend/lid coose to never or nothing. Turned off the screen saver and light. I checked the BIOS (it's actually BIOS and really that old) and no power settings that would effect sleep or wake.

But it still goes to sleep when I turn off the TV. This would be tolerable if it would actually wake from sleep. So the only way to get it to come on is to pull the battery out and force a restart.

Problem #1 - Goes to sleep when TV is off

Problem #2 - Won't wake unless I pull the battery
