There were two “Reigns of Terror,” if we would but remember it and consider it; the one wrought murder in hot passion, the other in heartless cold blood; the one lasted mere months, the other had lasted a thousand years; the one inflicted death upon ten thousand persons, the other upon a hundred millions; but our shudders are all for the “horrors” of the minor Terror, the momentary Terror, so to speak; whereas, what is the horror of swift death by the axe, compared with lifelong death from hunger, cold, insult, cruelty, and heart-break? What is swift death by lightning compared with death by slow fire at the stake? A city cemetery could contain the coffins filled by that brief Terror which we have all been so diligently taught to shiver at and mourn over; but all France could hardly contain the coffins filled by that older and real Terror—that unspeakably bitter and awful Terror which none of us has been taught to see in its vastness or pity as it deserves.

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

English-language Palestinian Marxist-Leninist twitter account.
English-language twitter account that collates news (and has automated posting when the person running it goes to sleep).
Arab-language twitter account with videos and images of fighting.
English-language (with some Arab retweets) Twitter account based in Lebanon.
English-language Palestinian Twitter account which reports on news from the Resistance Axis.

English-language PalestineResist telegram channel.

Various sources that are covering the Ukraine conflict are also covering the one in Palestine, like Rybar.

The Country of the Week is Palestine! Feel free to chime in with books, essays, longform articles, even stories and anecdotes or rants. More detail here.

Here is the map of the Ukraine conflict, courtesy of Wikipedia.

Resources For Understanding The War

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Pro-Russian

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.

https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.

https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.

https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.

https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine

Almost every Western media outlet.

https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.

https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

Last week's discussion post.

Well, this was entirely unexpected.

I left the stream going muted in a tab. I just checked. It's still going on and it's ~24 minute after the hour. I wonder if it's been ad free. Did they give the fucker the entire hour?

A U.S. Navy Boeing P-8A “Poseidon” Anti-Submarine and Surveillance Platform is currently Airborne over the Eastern Mediterranean to the Southwest of Cyprus, suspecting a submarine, most likely Russian to be in the area.

pretty ugly clip of an israeli cop threatening a reporter and then turning to the camera in a rage boasting that they'll turn gaza to dust

Has anyone heard about what the reaction/actions are from Arab/Palestinian Israelis? I have been wondering if we might see something like the labor strikes that happened in 2021.

I went looking for coverage and found this article Al Jazeera just published about Palestinian workers being suspended by their employers:

But on Saturday morning, Noura had no knowledge of any of this. Palestinian armed groups periodically fire rockets into southern Israel that are mostly intercepted by the country’s missile defence system, known as the Iron Dome.

So, when a visibly shaken co-worker spoke to Noura about what had happened, she responded by telling her, “This is not the first time” — a response she now recognises lacked empathy.

But as more details began to come through, and the unprecedented nature of the attack became clearer, Noura was summoned to her manager’s office, told to leave her work and not come back until further notice – because of that earlier conversation with her colleague.

“I felt very insulted, I couldn’t believe this is happening to me,” said Noura, who is one of 1.2 million Palestinians who are citizens of Israel – about 20 percent of the country’s population.

“I feel discriminated against,” she continued. “Day by day, you don’t feel it. But you feel it when something like this happens. You know that automatically you turn from a friend to an enemy.”

Shortly afterwards, she received a letter from the hospital’s management, which Al Jazeera has reviewed, in which she was called to a hearing to formalise her suspension on grounds that she had violated the institution’s disciplinary code, by allegedly supporting the Hamas attack.

Noura denied ever uttering the words she was accused of saying.

“What insulted me the most is that when they called me for the meeting, they had their mind set, the decision had been made. They didn’t want to listen,” Noura said of the hearing, which is expected soon.

I would imagine significant parts of the Israeli economy are relying on Arab workers in order to keep the war machine running, similar to the Confederacy's reliance on slave labor during the US Civil War.

I wonder what kind of tunnels hamas have down there.

If I had decades to tunnel under Gaza I'd have at least one vehicle sized tunnel that runs the whole strip for quick movement. If tunnels get discovered they can easily be trapped to collapse so the threat of anyone taking it over and using it as a means to get to your main fortress underground is basically zero.

It would be like an artery with many veins running off it.

So how's r/combatfootage doing since they banned footage from the Palestinian side, must get boring exclusively watching videos of screaming children and wailing parents

Today in jesus-christ shit

I cannot confirm anything about this. I don't know what it describes actually happened, if the video is from this week, or anything. It just reminds me of a story during the Vietnam War where a bunch of College kids went around their campus for a week putting up fliers saying the were going to burn a dog to death, and when all the enraged Amerikkkans showed up outraged about the dog burning the kids were like "There's no dog you dorks, American is setting kids of fire with napalm every day! you cared when you thought there was a dog, you should care when it's human beings!"

Nitterlink (No dogs are harmed it's just some Israelis picking up dogs off the street, and there's an IDF soldier for a few seconds.)

The dog sitting calmly in the shot up van does look... uh... staged. But whatever, who knows, propaganda is propaganda.

Kinda looks like this is some Hindutva account using the war in Palestine to smear Muslims. Not an angle I'd considered but I guess it makes sense they would.

here's another video I found CW: cats and people in danger but no one is shown being injured. A bomb goes off outside of an apartment and the people and cat inside startle

I wonder if Westernauts would change their minds if they saw cats in danger, our would just villify Palestinians for "putting cats in danger".

So Hamas has been planning this operation for years while Israel is totally surprised, unprepared, and reacting with predictable blind and senseless rage.

Hamas have been planning this long enough and they know Israel well enough to know how they would react.

Just like how the reaction of the US to 9/11 was exactly anticipated by bin Laden to “bring the far enemy close”, Hamas must be operating with a clear and planned concept of Israel’s genocidal reaction.

Meaning they must have some next step planned. But what?

I think they’ve got israel in some kind of zwugzwang or whatever you call that chess move cliche.

Israel choosing some genocidal collective retribution while not actually invading gaza seems to be the obvious reaction, and invading gaza seems the less likely but still plausible alternative. What happens after that and how does Hamas see it as playing into their hands?

“Delegitimization” seems unlikely since Israel doesn’t give a fuck if you think they’re legitimate so long as Uncle Sam and Germany are writing them blank checks. So Hamas must be anticipating some material change on the ground.

🟢 Hamas: — The occupation's massacre against families displaced under bombing is a heinous crime that only increases our people's determination to adhere to their land.

The horrifying massacre committed by the zionist occupation against the displaced people from our Palestinian nation in the steadfast Gaza Strip, which claimed 70 martyrs, including children and women, and left more than 200 wounded and injured, reveals the extent of its lies, deception, and misleading. This comes after suspicious calls it made for our people to leave their homes, only for them to be directly targeted in a heinous crime that will forever stand as evidence of its terrorism and aggression.

In the face of the ongoing war of annihilation that the occupation wages against our people in the steadfast Gaza Strip, we, in the Hamas movement, affirm that these crimes and systematic violations, in light of American and Western complicity and bias, and their double standards policy in dealing with our just cause and the legitimate rights of our people, will not succeed in breaking the will of our people who stand united with their resistance, rejecting all forms of displacement and expulsion from their land.

All this fake shit about "beheading babies" keeps reminding me of this bigfoot scene from RDR:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Js_RiCjzm44

Especially with how stubborn people from the West are with believing this lie. "You behead babies".
