At first one would expect cat owners to have a binary opposition of cats, the refined-graceful type and the goofy-fluffball type. However, this is mainly not the case. As in all things exist a dialectical sublation between the sub-types of kitties.

Goofball cats perhaps might be seen as full of zoomies and belly-up nappies. The ontological nature of refined kitty may be seen as silently sitting atop furniture, gracefully going and coming as they please. However, remember dialectics and do not be fooled by the appearance of false dichotomy. Cats are not static qualities but instead dynamic ever changing subjects. Inside every graceful cat exists the urge to stick out their tongue and roll off windowsills. Inside every fluffball exists moments of sublime beauty, gazing out a window, or displaying uncharacteristic poise while leaping to the summit of the cat tower.

These are not regressions, but instead, sublations of what Hegel called the in-itself into the not-for-itself. Grace exists within and defines goofiness, goofiness exists within and refines the gracefulness. Cat parents are thus a participant in a continual aufhebung oscillation between cat-as-goblin and cat-as-concept.

Also kitties are very cute and I wuv mine very very much

Torties best represent this constant yin-yang.

My neighbor has an incredible beautiful chill tortie, except when she meows it's like this demon screech full of pain and madness lmao. Her tortie does that scary cat "bagagwa merblemerr" type of vocalization, then goes right back to being gorgeous. You're so right.

I'd also like to propose that one might expect the opposite ends of the spectrum to be a siamese and an orange tabby, with those representing grace and chaos respectfully. Except I have a siamese and he's a nervous floofy ball of zoomies and my orange tabby is a silent wisp of a cat who struts around like a princess. It's perfect and I love them so much

This is the platonic ideal of communist shitposts, thank you for expanding the total value of all reality with this!

I just like cats a lot

[-] [email protected] 27 points 4 days ago

you can't know if kitty will become twisted or blob-no-thoughts beforehand

[-] [email protected] 26 points 4 days ago

yes and this is also true for catgirls

[-] [email protected] 26 points 4 days ago

I do have both of these so yes

literally yes lol wtf

although my squishy-marshmellow type has the personality of the spikey-pointy type and vice-versa

[-] [email protected] 19 points 4 days ago

There is a third type the meow-cactus type. Darby isn't particularly sleek or graceful and isn't a squishy floof either. She's a war cat

[-] [email protected] 10 points 4 days ago

I feel like we're missing Alleycat (war cat) as well as Trickster cat and Dog cat as additional cat subclasses

[-] [email protected] 8 points 4 days ago

Oh I've totally had a dog cat before and a few trickster cats. I used to live with like 20 cats

[-] [email protected] 17 points 4 days ago

Kiki and Bouba

[-] [email protected] 14 points 4 days ago

Yes I have one each of these and it's a good balance

[-] [email protected] 14 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

my parents have two that look like right but one has the left energy

[-] [email protected] 11 points 4 days ago

Blob cat and Helluva Boss cat

[-] [email protected] 11 points 4 days ago

Nay, you need twice that much for full feline saturation

[-] [email protected] 7 points 4 days ago

Yes, although my normally lazy cat goes into zoomies.

[-] [email protected] 13 points 4 days ago

In multiple-cat households there is almost always one cuddlebug and one danger kitty.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 3 days ago

Those have genres as well. Darby, my kitty is a danger cat in the assassin class. Sneaky and tactical. Some danger cars are the Furry Cannonball type. I've had a few aggro male cats that once they learned biting and scratching people was a no go as kittens they later took advantage of their speed and mass and would just kinda hurl their torso at you from various runways
