If my opsec sucks badly enough that they can get me for my beliefs I guarantee that leak would be in an account or device further upstream, Lemmy is an unlikely starting point for that lol.

I am a straight up vagabond and by the time the feds have located where to find me to talk to me, no they haven't I'm across the country.

Mods on other platforms are far more of a pipeline to feds coming to your door. That said, it's easier to be vague about things you might want to fedpost about than it is worth the risk of having feds come to your door. These days, it only takes once, and they're less likely to ask questions.

as in ive literally had things ive said on chinese social media get removed from american social media and had to do the "you said a thing we dont like and removed it and now you must acknowledge you said the bad thing and promise you wont again"

I have levels of honestly. Least honest is at work in front of other adults, then it's when in the classroom with kids (kids are cooler), then on Hexbear, then online with IRL comrades, and then finally in person with comrades when shit isn't flowing through the public internet.
