It's been a big week. I'm tired but I'm ok, I'll rest tomorrow. Plus man and kid picked up her new car today so it's a celebration ๐ŸŽ‰. Good news is, with a little rearranging both cars will fit in the garage because her's is a matchbox.

Cheers everyone ๐Ÿบ and 'ave a good weekend.

*This post was brought to you by a very confused little dog who is wondering why there's a strange car in the driveway.

Has she done a defensive driving course? They're pretty good for learning to swerve and brake, you might be able to get away with something similar out your way.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Mate, she hasn't even got her licence yet.

That's actually a good idea.

[-] [email protected] 7 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Certainly saved me from an accident in my first few years of driving. Some shit went down in front of me on Punt rd and I wasn't going to brake in time so I swerved onto the empty wrong side of the road. I reckon they should be required to move from Ps to Full license.

Gutters started overflowing. Thankfully it was the release valve near the tank and not anything else (just cleaned the bloody things a week and a bit ago).

But golly gosh when I hear water gushing I get completely paranoid now after all the water woes over the last few years.

[-] [email protected] 10 points 4 months ago

Gushing water scares me more than the power going out.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

power outage means safety mechanism stopped the worst.

Gushing water is months to years of fucking drama and mould paranoia

gamblingTAB has a Coalition majority at 17 to 1. Seriously thinking of chucking 10 bucks on it so at least I could buy myself an expensive bottle of scotch to drown my sorrows if they win

Op went well but dang, keeping on top of the eyedrops and meds for the next week and doing a lot of cleaning and bending down etc for my mum is quite a bit of work. Between that and getting on top of work and uni it looks like I'll have a lot on my plate

Really hope it rains today. Come on BOM, let your predictions be right ๐Ÿ™

[-] [email protected] 7 points 4 months ago

It looks like most of the rain will miss us, but I have set a load of washing in progress so here's hoping!

I saw lightning over the bay about 5:30am on the dog walk... over the bay-ish from Mulgrave, south-west of where I was. It may have come and gone.

I've done a load of washing and cleaned the bathroom. Soon I'll make some guac and a Bolognese sauce but I'm being really lazy about it lol.

90 mins waiting at chemist.

Laaaaaaaame.

Edit: 2 hours now. Bad day to need to speak to the pharmacist.

Finally done. 2 and a half hours.

We were far from the only ones who got the shop opening time wrong and had to twiddle our thumbs in the car park

[-] [email protected] 7 points 4 months ago

Hilarious scenes here. Kid has now learnt why spending 5 hours in her new car with radio, lights and windows down is too much for a little battery. Also why Mummy has windy windows. Daddy is now charging the battery to atleast wind the windows up in case it rains. Kid has now killed Daddy's buzz.

I really do try not to be judgy. But there are people out there actually making an active choice to have margarine on their toast. It's not better for you and it tastes like spreadable plastic.

Nice juicy storm over Trentham right now and heading our way, so maybe the washing machine magic has sorta kinda worked. Most of my washing is pretty much dry and easily tumble dried from here on so happy about that.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 4 months ago

I'm glad the Anzac march was dry. Happy for it to piss down this afternoon now.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 4 months ago

If anyone is interested in looking at some more outdated decorating I've found another fabulous house. The wallpaper in the bedrooms is particularly interesting.

Ran into Pauline Hanson this morning. She's aged, which I suppose stands to reason. I just hadn't considered that she's 70, now. She's clearly dying her hair bright red these days. I hope she does that for herself and not from some unspoken need to fit a certain look for women in politics. Men are allowed to age and go grey. Parliament is not Hollywood.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 4 months ago

My most charitable thoughts about Pauline Hanson are when I'm not thinking about her at all.
