Anarchism is a social movement that seeks liberation from oppressive systems of control including but not limited to the state, capitalism, racism, sexism, speciesism, and religion. Anarchists advocate a self-managed, classless, stateless society without borders, bosses, or rulers where everyone takes collective responsibility for the health and prosperity of themselves and the environment.

Prince Pyotr Alexeyevich Kropotkin was born in 1842 and breathed his last in 1921. Kropotkin was a Russian noble. He was educated for army and at the age of twenty he became a military officer in Siberia.

Kropotkin’s great interest in science developed from his military training which he received to get a job. This moulded his life in future. He had a scientific mind and devoted his time and energy to the study of books on science.

As a military officer in Siberia Kropotkin got ample opportunity for geographical survey and expedition. Thus his shift from military service to geographical survey and expeditions enriched the subject profoundly. He contributed many articles to different journals.

Peter Kropotkin was a man of different mentality and attitude. His stay in military service could not satisfy his academic and intellectual requirements and desires and after serving several years he relinquished the job, and entered the University of St. Petersburg in 1867. His vast knowledge in geography brought for him the post of secretary of Geographical Society.

Even this vital administrative post could not detain him for long time. He moved to radical political movements. In 1872, Peter Kropotkin joined the International Workingmen’s Association. Later on he was deeply involved in subversive and anarchical activities. This led him to imprisonment in 1874.

He escaped from prison in 1876 and went to England. The England of the second half of eighteenth century was the centre of revolutionary activities, although she never experienced any revolution.

He also travelled to Switzerland and Paris. While in Paris he was again arrested by the French government in 1883. Released from prison in 1886 he went to England and settled there. While in exile, Kropotkin gave lectures and published widely on anarchism and geography. He returned to Russia after the Russian Revolution in 1917 but was disappointed by the Bolshevik state. The rest of his life was spent without political activity.

Peter Kropotkin was an evolutionist anarchist. But his evolutionism was more scientific than that of his predecessors. He wrote several books on anarchism such as ‘The Place of Anarchy in Socialist Evolution (1886), The Conquest of Bread (1888), Its Philosophy and Ideal (1896)’, ‘The State – Its Part in History (1898)’ and ‘Modern Science and Anarchism (1903)’. His deep interest in science, particularly biology and anthropology, opened before him new and enchanting vistas of knowledge and all these inspired him to study biological science with added interest.

Bit idea: leftist who hates boomers so much he decided to become anti government debt after finding out how much of it the social security trust fund owns.

Currently leveling my crew in FTL. New computer so I'm playing in easy for the first.time in a while. I've got 151 scrap and I still have 5 stops.left in sector one, but I just ran into an asshole with just a bl1 and a system repair drone so I'm levelling the crew with 1 shield. Also got a 4th crew off a slaver ship. Things are going good. Kestrel btw, first run on this computer.

posting again word for word

i bought a new processor, a ryzen 5200x3d, it was cheapish like 200 bux and a big upgrade. it arrived sometime today and my partner and i settled in to install it.

well folks let me tell u that shit took like 5 hours and really sucked and i found out my AIO cooler aint shit anymore. the new processor was IDLING at 90+ degrees. wew lad. i swapped back to my old one a bunch of times testing shit and THAT ONE TOO is idling hot as shit now. (83 degrees as of writing this only firefox open). i guess my ancient corsair h60 has had it.

so i bought a thermalright royal knight 120 se (i know others are better or cooler or whatever idc all of them are completely sold out) for like 40 bux or so and i opted for free prime so it could get here soon TM (like thursday if that)

folks i just wanted my plex server to run better so i could game while i watch shit with my partner, i don't deserve this

We are very far away from the future where all join hands and sing the Internationale together. But the distance is not infinite.

whining

Long day, have to do a bunch of shopping for family, hate doing it, anxious, everything takes forever, lose the list for awhile, have to schlep a bunch of heavy grocery bags, shit car's trunk doesn't hold open anymore, have to wedge it open with a hiking pole every fucking time

Finally done, see homeless guy panhandling with his dog, looks cold and hungry, give him a couple bucks and some food and paper towels and wet wipes

About to finally leave, see couple in the parking lot trying to get the last drops out of a jerry can of gas, they ask for some gas money

Gave my last cash on hand to the guy with the dog

Say sorry, they say no worries

"Hey btw, that guy's a scammer, he's always here and goes home to an apartment down the street."

Well shit, at least I got to pet a nice dog

Don't get home until like 8:30

Realize I haven't eaten all day, cranky

Make a sandwich and take my supplements and pre-workout, finally get to go to the gym

Don't get done until 2:00am

Get out to parking lot

Shit car's fucking frozen shut

Can't get key in the door

FUCK

Security guy shows up making the rounds, sees me trying to thaw the lock with a cigarette lighter

"Well shit, I left my heat gun in the office. Uh, I have hand warmers?"

Thanks man

"Well, good luck!"

Obviously don't have any, but thanks Paul Blart

spoiler joking sui ref Intrusive thought then: "reach for his service weapon and just see what happens"

Gross, new Zionist billboard in town about how colleges need to "protect American students" linking people to some hasbara "story of Israel".

Hope someone fucks it up like they do with the anti-abortion ones, rather than ignore it like with our Shen Yun ones.

So I got a Nintendo Switch a couple years back. While it's pretty dang useful for entertaining guests (Switch Sports, Jackbox, and Warioware are staples of having friends over now) it always felt like something I bought for other people rather than myself.

Last year, I found myself wishing that I had something that made me want to play Switch more often. I had hoped for just a really good game, but a finger curled on the monkey's paw instead. Now I play quite a lot of games on Switch because I have back pain and being able to play while lying down is a huge selling point.

To hear how the love for pets in our society is very much a modern thing and how depictions of “a boy and his dog” are rooted in boomer nostalgia and aspirations (at least how it appears to me), it almost completely wallpapers over the notion of growing up in the suburbs is lonely, as the only constant companionship comes from an animal happy that you feed it. Especially as distances between properties and reliance on cars grow, you return to the loneliness of depression era rural farms in america where the telephone’s invention meant you can regularly contact people again.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 week ago

I get what you're saying, but folks did really love their pets, though. I just, the people of the distant past, they loved their animals just like we do. I think it would be sad not to know that. Cw: tearjerker

From the grave of an ancient roman's beloved dog;

spoiler

"My eyes were wet with tears, our little dog, when I bore you [to the grave]. So, Patricus, never again shall you give me a thousand kisses. Never can you be contentedly in my lap. In sadness, I buried you, as you deserve. In a resting place of marble, I have put you for all time by the side of my shade. In your qualities, you were sagacious, like a human being. Ah, what a loved companion we have lost!"

"You who pass on this path, if you happen to see this monument, laugh not, I pray, though it is a dog’s grave. Tears fell for me, and the dust was heaped above me by a master’s hand."

Canadian CHUD politics are so funny because it’s like they decided to means-test their reactionary views. A recent headline Doug Ford issue was banning international students from Ontario medical schools, a program so targeted that it affects like 10 people (medical schools already had very tight caps for international students, and are otherwise seat limited and competitive).

I am gonna be so fucked if it actually comes to a rental hearing. Is that like a "never represent yourself in court" thing? Is it gonna help my case if I break down and sob mid-hearing, because that's what's gonna happen.

Been helping my short 5'2" sibling get good at the bench press, so far they at 75 lbs. I got them to 135 once and really my key was putting some blocks on their feet to help them, I'd very much would love to see them bench their own body weight and honestly maybe a year or two I think they can do it.

A favorite mug of mine from an establishment that went out of business has a leaking hairline crack. The glaze is also discolored all around it. I think it's beyond saving without refiring it or kinsugi or something.

When you buy into a mutual fund or etf there’s a management fee. Each of the profitable companies in the fund have a diversified portfolio that probably charges them a management fee. It’s like an infinite money cheat for the guy you pay to go idk but stocks in everything I guess.

I can't wait until trump is forced to comment on luigi, like, if he's pro luigi, imagine how much more rabid the people out for CEO blood now will get, and if he's anti luigi, I imagine at least a non zero number of trump supporters will treat him like they did ben shapiro

I was enjoying reading Merchants of Dount until I got to the conclusion. “Like it’s bête noire, Marxism, laissez-faire economics claimed to be scientific, based upon immutable laws of nature, and also like Marxism, it has not stood the test of experience.” According to who? “‘Scientific socialism’ wasn’t scientific because when evidence suggested that some of its central claims might be wrong, its advocates refused to accept that.” What central claims? What evidence? The methodology itself is scientific, even if “some claims” are disproven (no claims I’m aware of have even been disproven). Science gets stuff wrong all the time, throughout all of history, even though the methodology for reaching its conclusions are scientific. Was the Michelson–Morley experiment not science?
