I have badposting and fakenews blocked but like can we just not do this right now. I don't want to have another big fight.

fakenews is one of the only comms i have blocked lol. but since i have it blocked, i don't mind others who do enjoy it.

c/fakenews should announce its removal and be removed based on whether people think they’re serious or not

frankly i understand banning beluga if they were the one creating the alts, which i have a hard time believing, but i really dislike the concept of going for a layup like deleting fakenews to regain some kind of credibility with the userbase. it's lateral to the point, does nothing to solve the actual issues being discussed, and shutters a comm that was harmless fun for a majority of the people contributing content to it. i spent probably 2 or 3 hours total writing content, creating actual satire, and to see it unceremoniously swept away as a peacekeeping move honestly makes me upset and think that everyone on a higher level has absolutely no idea what they can actually do to fix the situation

I don't think there is any need. Users can block the comm if they want.

Mostly neutral. The bits are mostly lame. But a lot of ND comrades really don't like it so

I feel the best case for a c/fakenews post is a mildly humorous gotcha. The worst case is causing an anxiety episode for a comrade. The median is just an unfunny post clogging up the timeline. The good posts that comes from c/fakenews can still stick around, just post in c/chapotraphouse and link to a rickroll or something.

I actually enjoyed the comm after it was opened up to everyone but I'm not going to lose any sleep if it was removed

I mean I had it blocked on my old account and when I made this new account one of the first things I did was block it, so I ain't gonna miss it.

I actually like the ones that manage to bamboozle me

it's always been a terrible comm, don't understand why it was protected so long.

Remove c/fakenews

I think it can be fun, and it can always be blocked, just like badposting. It can move beyond where it started, it doesn't have to carry the baggage of a user.

Either way, completely understand if it gets removed. People could always start putting fake news in badposting, since it's bad.
