Welcome to c/electoralism! politics isn't just about voting or running for office, but this community is.
Please read the Chapo Code of Conduct and remember...we're all comrades here.
Shitposting in other comms please!
I've had a pretty bad day so I decided to tune into the Majority Report live show just now for some schadenfraude, and they're talking to liberal caller who sounds of the verge of tears, who keeps asking how do we know Trump even won democratically, how will we ever know when Democrats are gracious losers and too respectful to check? and then goes on to insist that while he agrees that "we need to get organised" it's important to remember that it "doesn't have to mean joining an organisation" and can just be personal little things.
Seems like the only good member of congress has absolutely murdered her opponent, which is the only thing i cared about.
have a feeling there might be some, irregularities, in this election.
Found a site with more precise vote counting https://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/
I made this comment based on Green Party results compared to 2016, but actually, this seems like it's the best PSL has ever done. And that's without all of California counted, too! Also worth noting that the Greens (despite their poor performance) appear to have done better than the Libertarians, which I don't think has ever happened. They did better than RFK as well. So at least there's that.
The "blue wall" didn't hold lmfao
I don't think Trump's victory is deserved, kinda wild to see this incompetent man win the presidency for the second time and after making huge mistakes like picking Vance as VP. But I do think Harris' defeat is indeed deserved, they deserved to be crushed because they fucked around too much and became grotesquely arrogant. If anything, the first woman president of the US shouldn't have been this piece of shit loser who failed her way to the top and the Democrats forced everyone to like because they refused to pressure Biden to step down earlier and then refused to hold primaries.
Serves them right.
Now I beg you, organize. And when you think you're done organizing, organize some more. And when that is enough, no it isn't, more organization is needed. In times of extreme polarization, organization becomes desirable and mandatory.
Up the PSL
Everyone owes Moo Deng an apology

BREAKING: Man 'smelling like fuel' and carrying a torch and flare gun arrested at the U.S. Capitol
I don't care who wins the presidential election but I'm really pulling for my one good local DSA dem to remain in the state assembly, voting for her in the primary against her AIPAC backed challenger was the only good thing to come out of me being registered as a dem so I hope she can stay
Like she's legit the only dem I'm voting for and she deserves to win for opposing the genocide and just having consistently good policy

Bernie Sanders wins fourth term in Vermont, defeating Republican Gerald Malloy
Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., won reelection Tuesday, defeating Republican Gerald Malloy and securing his fourth term in the U.S. Senate. At 83, Sanders will continue his decades-long career in Washington with another six-year term.
Known as a leading progressive, Sanders has championed policies like Medicare for All and a higher federal minimum wage. First elected to the U.S. House in 1991, Sanders moved to the Senate in 2007 and ran for president in 2016 and 2020.
Though he is an Independent, Sanders is expected to continue caucusing with the Democratic Party.

We're watching live election news coverage. Come chat if you like.
It's truly baffling that people could look historically at US elections and unequivocally say "When people are concerned about the economy, the incumbent party doesn't do well...........................................but this election it'll be different!"
The fact that the campaign didn't distance themselves from Biden will truly be studied for generations (who am I kidding, it probably won't)
Final report from MSNBC: Rachel Maddow, Joy Reid, Chris Hayes nowhere to be seen after Trump's victory speech. Both were last seen on air when PA was called for Trump. Seemed like they have taken the spiciest commentators off-air. Jen Psaki has taken the moderator role, and as much as I hate her, the girl is doing a commendable job, she's been live for >8 hours holding it together. Bunch of jabronis whom I don't know replaced Rachel, Joy, Chris Hayes, etc. on the panel. They are still whining. Poor Kornacki is still on, and Kornacki cam is still live. Let the guy sleep. It is not worth watching anymore.
