Time After Time - Cyndi Lauper.
Yes, I'm old.
But it does depend what kind of mood I'm in, and what kind of soothing I need.
In some cases: Chaser EP - Femtanyl.

Sometimes if I'm stressed I play guitar and something I quite often play is Time After Time!
If you played Femtanyl, I'd be really impressed :D
SLAYER Killing Fields
I was just going to comment mine is the entire album Reign in Blood lol I'm glad I'm not the only one
I'm partial to 213 myself
That is my go to love song.
SLAYER Delusions of Savior
The album August and Everything After by Counting Crows.
It is such a perfect album. My personal favorite closely followed by Recovering the satellites.
Most songs by dire straits, particularly ride across the river. Also definitely not heavy fuel
Amon Tobin - Easy Mufffin
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Little Wing
Green Arrow - Yo La Tengo
Don't know why - Norah Jones
Ralph Vaughan Williams - The Lark Ascending (I'm partial to Hilary Hahn's 2004 performance with the London Symphony Orchestra directed by Colin Davis).
I recently discovered the piano and violin version of this, rather than the full orchestral version. It's much more intimate and would be my choice for a more soothing experience. The orchestral version is so emotional for me, that sometimes I wouldn't be able to describe it as soothing.
MGMT - Little Dark Age
Smashing Pumpkins- Obscured
If I’m feeling angsty I like early Nine Inch Nails
If I just want to chill then maybe “The K&D Sessions”
Hallelujah. Any version.
Close #2: American Pie.
Darrow's Barn. Seriously, if you've never heard it, click the link, close your eyes, and just listen.
Lullaby by Shawn Mullins. Heard it at a special time - I don't remember the event anymore but I do get intense feelings of comfort and calm whenever I hear it.
Detectorists theme song: https://youtu.be/Q5LbTeti0sw?si=OT1IVqKiFbUqJHiJ
The Do - The Calendar also does bits for me too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2eG9Y8d998
Skalpel - Sculpture
Lights off, curtains closed, no distractions, and: Bear Mccreary - Something Dark is Coming
Not a specific song, but a band: Hail the Sun
Any song by Galdive
Pastoral- Moondog
The entire album of Everlasting Summer by Seycara
Dancing on my own - Robyn's version
Lovely Day - Bill Withers
Ants Marching - Dave Matthews Band
Rap Snitches Knishes - MF Doom
Mahna Mahna - Mahna Mahna and the Snowths
Grace Vanderwaal - Clearly
Lord Kill The Pain
Tattoo of the Sun - Third Eye Blind
Elwynn Forest theme. Or Dream Theater's Trial of tears
Stormwind theme feels like home to me
Also amazing, but more.. epic rather than tranquil.
What you won't do for love. By Bobby Caldwell.
Have you heard this Everlong and What You Won't Do for Love live looping mashup? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gl9GtO_vQxw
Elfenlied - Lilium
Ocean - Against me
Hallucinatinations - Republika
Venus in furs - Velvet Underground
Plus Profond - Hooverphonic

It has a fast beat, but mellow, repetitive feel, so it's fast enough to catch my speeding thoughts and pull them down.
