Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

Democrats use republicans as a cudgel to keep people in line while they do the most heinous, corrupt and horrible things. At some point you gotta stop being afraid of the beatings or you gotta admit you dont care about the rest of the world being destroyed by the US.

Yeah its just that if you suggest this people treat you like you are insane. People love to bring up privilege and revoke your "ally card" and whatnot as if third party voters and politically aware non-voters haven't heard it all for decades. The conversation is always so stale. It's so hard to convince people the election is a red herring. I can't even bring myself to judge people anywhere near as harshly based on the election because it just isn't that important.

Who'd have guessed that a group calling itself "uncommitted" would lack follow through?

Change still possible with Democrats

8/10 as comedy but only 0/10 as policy.

Change is possible under Dems? What is your evidence for that?

Simple, they're now openly pro border wall, openly pro genocide....

oh, you meant change for the better.

Yeah I’ll be honest after the last 4 years I am not convinced the Republicans are the bigger threat

Things have been demonstrably, measurably worse under Biden than Trump. Is that due to the republicans incompetence, rather than a difference in goals? Probably, but the fact remains, Biden has done more harm than Trump.

The Dems literally didn't change on their one demand lol

I hear people say they think it pushes the country to the left somehow, even though when I point out all the recent Dem election wins, they just blame Republicans for sabatoging everything. In other words, they just don't pay attention and are deeply unserious but still have a moral stake somehow.

Honestly, any group that isn't openly and wholly Marxist-Lenninist should be assumed to be reactionary and will backstab what they believe. Only trust communists in politics.

All this does is invite people to use ML as bait to draw them through the gates of hell. There is no ideology you can call yourself that frees you from criticism.

I will say however, that MLs, whether they are ideologically agreeable or shakey, likely understand the stakes and will quickly reject a lot of bait your average liberal will take. Still, there are a number of things that can be used to create a pipeline that draws marxists to neoliberalism and we would do well to know we are not free from propaganda or the processes of capital. Workers have been used to advance empire and we can be certain this is not limited to a distant past.

will backstab what they believe

I mean, they're not endorsing anyone. Harris Dems are going to be the ones screaming "Backstabbed!"

Only trust communists in politics.

glances at InfraRed, the CPUSA, etc

Besides...

While Abandon Harris has yet to endorse one individual ahead of the presidential election, the group told MEE it is urging voters to back third-party candidates towards eventually "breaking the duopoly” of the US electoral system.

Literally what else are you asking from a bunch of electoralists? They're championing a boycott of the pro-genocide duopoly. Seems like that's as good as you're going to get from a voter advocacy organization.

Pathetic. They really are uncommitted.

If they can't stand against genocide they can fuck off
