Snyderkin, we're back. We're so back.

Zack Snyder pitched his idea for a Star Wars sequel and it was shot down by Disney. So Netflix optioned it and produced it. Oh, and you know how the bad guys of Star Wars were fashioned after Nazis? Well the bad guys of Rebel Moon are fashioned after Soviets.

Also Netflix poured millions into this and has already started a spin-off for the Anthony Hopkins C3PO, directed by Del Toro.

Wait aren’t the bad guys in Star Wars the American empire in vietnam? This is the first I’ve seen of this so not sure what the villains are supposed to be

    This isn't Star Wars, it's some mashup of all the latest popular trends that Hollywood and Snyder think will make money. Looking for any real meaning in it is only going to drive you up the wall.

    It probably won't be bad, in terms of just switching your brain off and enjoying the action, though.

    The film also began development as a Star Wars film that Snyder had pitched to Lucasfilm shortly after the sale of Lucasfilm to The Walt Disney Company in 2012. This pitch was to be a more mature take on the Star Wars universe. Following the acquisition, the project was redeveloped

    In a universe controlled by the corrupt government of the Mother World, the moon of Veldt is threatened by the forces of the Imperium, the army of the Mother World controlled by Regent Balisarius.     more mature take on the Star Wars universe

    It's going to have more juvenile edgy violence and booba, knowing Synder's idea of "maturity."

    There was already a more mature take on Star Wars, and Andor was actually good.

    Any time someone describes anything as ”a more mature take on X”, it almost without fail means nudity and violence, the 15-year-old's idea of maturity.

    Watching this trailer I felt like I was turning a dial on how much I thought it was Star Wars. At first I thought it was, then I was pretty confident it wasn't, but then I saw lightsabers so I turned the dial up just a bit before turning it down again by the end.

The villagers decide to fight, and so they have to go out into the galaxy and collect some soldiers, warriors to help them.”

    Hmmmm a bunch of soldiers from the motherlandplanet show up to a remote farming planet and try to take their grains. So the farmers go and recruit some people who opposed the motherlandplanet, to help fight.

    Snyder is like the film version of pre-made pancake batter. His works contain no deeper meaning or other hard to reproduce aspects like good characterisation or dialogue. While most artists are hard to rip-off convincingly, anyone could make a Snyder-type script. Make sure there's violence, "I'm 14 and this is deep" dialogue, weird fascistic posturing, boobs. Slap on "realistic" CGI and a desaturation filter. Congratulations, you have made a Snyder movie.

    I genuinely think that's why he's pushed so hard. Besides the cost of CGI, having such an empty style means you could reproduce it any time with little effort.

    Other artists I can think of that fit this description are Tim Burton and Steven Moffat. I know they've made great art before but recently it's just been misses.

    Snyder's style is so aggressively ugly, just watching the trailer made me feel nauseous. How the hell did he ever become a well known director?

    pahahaha the fucking soundtrack it's a Dune ripoff I literally laughed out loud when I heard that first 'momo ohhhhhhhhh'

    oh god it looks so horrible the CG is shit the overall design is all over the place it's a proper mishmash.

    AND ITS GOT 2 PARTS!

    Made my day. What an irredeemable dogpile.

    He even got Duke Leto! This is kinda sad in a way. Either he's a hack looking to copy what "is popular" to make money, which is sad that he gets this funding, or he's just creatively bankrupt with no confidence in his own ideas, which is also quite sad.

    At about the 2 minute mark you've got some lady killing people and whenever she stabs someone the knives make a "shwing" sound as if theyre striking metal lmao. This looks like one of those "make fun of the current fads" movies that was everywhere in the early 00's, except it's not trying to be goofy.
