So their attack is based on the fact that he petted a dog that wasn't Scout when he was at the dog park?

What kind of weirdo goes to a dog park and doesn't pet every dog they see?

They tend toward unneutered pit bull mixes that shouldn’t be at a dog park in the first place.

Dogs instinctively recoil and begin snarling at MAGA supporters so the idea that a strange dog would willingly come up to them for pets is unthinkable.

Well someone hasn't read the Bible apparently!

"Thou shall not covet thy neighbors dog." Sound familiar?

Yeah it was me, I didn't read the Bible...

:P

Pretty sure the Bible thing is about covering oxen.

Harder to spot under a tarp (especially if it's a sand colored one) and quick to overheat in the desert, is my guess 🤷

Thou shalt not have any other dogs before DOG!

Trump was considering South Dakota Gov. Noem for his running mate, but he ruled out that possibility after she drew so much criticism for an anecdote in her book in which she describes shooting a dog she owned.

Puppy. Not dog, puppy. It was only 14 months old when she decided to take a shotgun to it.

Because it got loose and attacked the neighbors chickens, not maiming the mailman, or hurting a child! And she was training it to be a hunting dog!

Psaki argued, "I think there's actually an important lesson here. FDR was right: If you resort to attacking a candidate's dog, you're probably losing, and you deserve all of the ridicule coming your way."

Almost everyone loves dogs. If you don't, or they frighten you, you still know that others love them. Speaking poorly about them is a stupid move. Let's gear up for stupid!

What gets me is that they didn't even have to attack his dog. Kristi already had that covered in her own backyard gravel pit!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

It's not in her back yard she lives in the gravel pit.

Hopefully, Walz does not own a tan suit.

Harris wore this at the convention, and I loved it! Even if she didn’t mean anything deeper by it, I still read some snark into it.

[–] [email protected] 46 points 2 months ago (1 children)

There is zero chance that wasn't intentional

[–] [email protected] 19 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Absolutely, there's a lot of planning that goes into events like this down to the wardrobes people on stage are gonna wear. Was it planned because Republicans lost their shit over the tan suit during the Obama administration and it was a jab at that? Maybe, probably, and it also serves as a way to more quickly identify shich day a soud bite is taken from and a bit harder for oppositional propaganda to stitch disparate quotes together to push an alternative narrative.

At the end of the day the choice fulfills a bunch of roles, probably even beyond just the sound bite splicing challenges and poking fun at conservatives.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago

Every once in a while I forget that there are like hundreds of professional people whose job it is to do this stuff

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It also fits in with the wider pattern of calling the opposition out for their weirdness and pettiness. A subtle "you all remember the tan suit thing, right?" as well as bait for another unforced error.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

Ooh yeah that's another good potential use case too!

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 months ago

Hopefully he does, and he and Kamala wear them together and are twinsies.

Thankfully ketchup is a little too spicy for someone from Minnesota so we don't have to worry about Walz putting it on a hot dog.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Lmao as a Minnesotan born and raised I'm offended by your accurate statement.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

NEVER BEFORE have I been so offended by something that I ONE HUNDRED PERCENT agree with

One of their recent lines of attack involves Walz's dog Scout: some MAGA Republicans have been questioning the dog's identity after seeing an October 2022 photo of Walz petting a different dog — an attack that, according to MSNBC's Jen Psaki, underscores their desperation.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 2 months ago (1 children)

This is desperate as fuck. What can we whine about next, he hugs someone who isn't a family member? Fuck off, Repubs.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 months ago

he hugs someone who isn't a family member

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago

It's crazy that the worst they can come up with on him is "He gave children sanitary products" and "He pretended to have a dog".
