K2 is a mountain that doesn't want to be climbed, yet people keep trying to climb it and keep dying. There is a reason most of the Himalayas weren't climbed before the lmayo came along.

Don't climb k2 if you fear death

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 year ago

Mountain climbing should be banned, people shouldn’t be up there.

What an absolutely gormless expression. You’d think a ghoul that just ignored a dying man wouldn’t be soyfacing

I'm sure she's just awful as we're all imagining, but isn't it pretty well impossible to casevac somebody from these high altitude climbs once you get within a certain distance to the summit?

Edit: To clarify, this doesn't absolve the expedition of their culpability in this man's death, in that he clearly had no business being on that mountain and clearly wasn't properly vetted, likely because they wanted a mule and weren't concerned with the particulars

The statistic is it takes 6 people to carry one at high altitude. The protocol is usualy give them oxygen, some first aid and a radio. That probably wouldn't save him, but it would at least let him say goodbye. I don't think they could have rescued him as the bottleneck is really difficult. Plus, humans aren't built for high altitude. If you lose the strength to walk above 8,000 meters, your fate is sealed. I'm not calling the ghoul's actions justified, I'm just saying that I don't think there could be a scenario where he survived.

Yeah. I've read that on Everest there's no chance of rescue over a certain altitude.

Another example of white people not qualifying as actual humans.
