What a sad state your country must be in to take weapons from fucking North Korea. That's like getting a busted slingshot from the kid who eats his own boogers.

Rules:
-
Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:
- Post news articles only
- Video links are NOT articles and will be removed.
- Title must match the article headline
- Not United States Internal News
- Recent (Past 30 Days)
- Screenshots/links to other social media sites (Twitter/X/Facebook/Youtube/reddit, etc.) are explicitly forbidden, as are link shorteners.
-
Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.
-
Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed. Sources that have a Low or Very Low factual reporting rating or MBFC Credibility Rating may be removed.
-
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.
-
Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF 10/19
-
Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
-
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
-
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

She added that the recently tested weapons are designed to attack Seoul, the South Korean capital
What a great neighbourhood to be in
Well, if she said it, it MUST be true!
Almost all politicians lie but what's the deal with a certain subsection of them doing the bit so blatantly?
I guess it is helped that nobody will call out their lies (and lives).
North Korea is such a let down for humanity, a sad disappointment. They'd be so much better off if they worked together with the world. I firmly believe the US military has a complete view of their imports/exports through spy satellites.
This statement makes sense if you know literally nothing about North Korea or the Korean war.
If you do know anything about it you realize why they might be a little hesitant to trust America.
let down for humanity
My brother in christ, have you seen what we’ve done to the Palestinians?
In 2024 if you’re not a misanthrope you’re naive.
Whataboutism. Comparing the situation between Israel and Palestine to North Korea isn't smart. And you say what "we've" done to Palestinians, I haven't done anything to them, I didn't vote for any of that shit.
Man why don't these North Koreans understand that we come in lovu and peas?!!!
@riodoro1 reminds you that Palestine which doesn't have a massive military is currently being Genocided by a Western colony with full support from America so the suggestion that North Korea should just lay down their weapons is completely insane
WHATABOUTISM REEEEE!!
Stay on topic or GTFO lmao. There's thousand of Palestine/Israel circlejerking in .hexbear or .ml.
go have fun kiddo.
His comment is fully on topic.
Look at Palestine for one second and any moron sees why playing nice with America and the West is a suggestion from a delusional tankie.
The only thing that stops us from trying to steal every resource and overthrowing every government is not having the military might to do so.
And WW3 is only getting started...lots of powder kegs loaded and everyone is juggling lit matches...
She don’t look like she’s eating her annual rice ball.
Please stop sharing lies.
The highly esteemed Kim family does not require food, so your point is entirely redundant.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Foreign experts believe North Korea’s recent series of artillery and short-range missile tests were meant to examine or advertise the weapons it was planning to sell to Russia.
Kim Yo Jong called outside assessments on the North Korean-Russian dealings “the most absurd paradox which is not worth making any evaluation or interpretation.”
She said North Korea’s recent weapons tests were purely performed as parts of the country’s five-year arms buildup plan launched in 2021.
In March, South Korean Defense Minister Shin Wonsik said North Korea had shipped about 7,000 containers filled with munitions and other military equipment to Russia since last year.
At the time, Ukraine officials also said an investigation of the debris of a missile found in its northeastern Kharkiv region showed the weapon likely was from North Korea.
Foreign experts say North Korea likely thinks an enlarged weapons arsenal would boost its leverage in future diplomacy with the United States.
The original article contains 504 words, the summary contains 153 words. Saved 70%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!
Is there any incentive for her to say NK did supply weapons to Russia?
Well that's a relief
Kim is such a hungry boy he cant even feed his sister.
